Stepped away from the game at halftime. Came back and we were down. I don’t know what happened and don’t think I want to know. I’m just going to skip sports talk on this one. Bad loss. Really bad loss.
blew a 30 pt lead to the worst team in the league. that's really all there is to be said. abolutely pathetic this team will be lucky to make the play-in game
Team clearly needs work and Lebron, THT, Ariza, etc to be back. Only beat one good team so far in Memphis and that was with Memphis on the back end of back to back, SAS is not good barely beat them, and somehow looked incompetent against the worst team in the league that is trying to tank. Why this team didn't choose to just add more shooting to a winning formula of physicality, defense and more defense, and Lebron/AD scoring when it counted is beyond me. here's hoping that Westbrook is really a second half player
I hate early blowout games. As a Laker fan, I can't remember the last time I felt comfortable during one. Kobe and Shaq years? More than other teams, we historically get complacent and it's either a close game or a sloppy loss. Best to burn the tape to this one and get ready for Friday
That play where Russ was all the way at the rim, then threw it to nobody at center court? Man, he makes some bone headed plays.
And it only took 15 minutes to lose that 25 point lead. You almost have to try to lose and just clown around. This is some overmatched middle school rec league crap.
I’m sorry to keep beating a dead horse, but this team will regret letting a guy like Caruso go. When teams make runs we CANNOT stop the bleeding, AD is only one man out there, and he’s mostly alone because Westbrook, Melo, Monk, Rondo, DJ, etc are so bad on defense. I still don’t understand why we didn’t sign Ennis. Isn’t he a defensive player? We have zero small forwards right now with LeBron out and Ariza injured. Mostly I’m just pissed at this team right now though, that’s an inexcusable loss, you can’t be up 26 and blow it unless you’re the Mavs and Shaq and Kobe are coming at you. We had SGA and some boy band looking rookie coming at us, that’s pathetic.
I thought to myself watching that 1st quarter it was a total mismatch and they had no size to compete with us as we rolled off that score and shut them down. Told my wife when she asked how the game was going …. it was like we were playing a JV team. Owning up to my part in this debacle next to @karacha .
I would have told off karacha as Jinxboy in the chat if I was awake for the game but I missed it because I was still asleep
was reading dancing barry's recap and one of the lg posters responded with basically my exact sentiments on this team and the early season. basically, we sold our defensive soul to score more, and we're reaping now. some issues will get better (we'll keep getting better offensively, to the point where we win most of our games this way, imo), but some are roster-based and can't be fixed by coaching/strategy or general increased cohesion and experience. we just have too many bad defenders. no way around it. i suppose ariza gets healthy and we get one more guy who can defend in the team scheme, but too many guys we need to play (melo, rondo, monk, dj to some extent, and unfortunately westbrook) simply aren't good on that end.
Still feel how I felt last night. Haven't read any real analysis of the collapse. The team has roster issues but we just shouldn't lose to a team like the Thunder period. No, we don't have great defenders but our guys should be able to produce a solid enough defensive effort to beat those guys especially when you build up a 25 point lead. If they truly can't then Rob is going to have figure out more moves through trade or something because this just isn't going to work.
