It depends, this team is probably 3 players away from a contender. (I'm looking at AD/Lebron with Reaves/Walker/Brown/JTO/maybe Beverley. Need a ten man rotation to add at least 2 bodies who can shoot and the ability to bench certain players at certain times) Time is on the Lakers side here - it's just the tough schedule is going to make it difficult to wait If you can get two players like Turner and Hield there is a good chance you can also do a Rudy Gay for Nunn move (or a buyout happens). Perhaps Brooklyn keeps going bad, they are not going to extend Irving so you can probably see their asking price drop to a 1st and then you see if Indiana will buyout Turner as he's a FA anyway. As much as I hate Jeannie/Rob for letting Caruso walk it's reasonable to see how this plays out. Right now the Lakers have no leverage but closer to the trade deadline this will flip hard IMO
I still vaguely remember (probably here soon after the launch) a good number of years ago your 1st person feel good Lakers winning story from around the 3-peat years …. of the swim up bar in Las Vegas and I think you met a really cool gal there to help make the experience even more fun.
I told you Rob failed. Jeanie needs to be held accountable for giving him an undeserved extension. Glad I’m not watching this mess live anymore.
The site needs you. Hopefully you can just chill a bit. Fans aren't rational. This poor start will end. There will be better days.
I actually think we agree here. I feel like we will see a pretty large jump in what this team can do if it adds the right role players.
Nah this site needs you a lot, there have to be level-headed posters to balance out the sky is falling people like me, as well as the “we’re still a title contender!” types. Just let me whine and cry and throw a fit in here only, and everywhere else call me on it and pull me off the ledge.
I also agree. This team has some good pieces, but needs 2-3 players who can shoot and play their role really well. They don't need to be stars, just good role players who are consistent.
can i whine again that lillard got hurt the game AFTER he single-handedly beat us and sent our season spiraling? feel like if we won that game like we should have, everyone would feel a bit better right now.
You can even whine about whatever you want as far as I know. I think back when we were good people have whined about the forum being too whiny after some losses. May have even been me. Look what the Lakers have done to me. All I was trying to say is you’re in the wrong thread to try and talk people into there being a good team in there haha.
eh, i don't think this is a good team. i just argued the point that they're better than last year, despite the record. much more watchable, imo. i have plenty of gripes. i could fill a mug full of tears with how unbelievably and weirdly bad the shooting has been. it's like there's an actual curse.
i'm not finished! just got done watching bkn/mavs, and the way the national tv guys treat bkn vs. the lakers is ridiculous. there was all this praise about how they fought and stuff. in a home loss to dallas. we got no such mercy in a home loss to portland in what i'd call similar circumstances. bkn's a disappointing as we are, but somehow get to play the role of a plucky underdog?!
I remember whining in this forum with real about how everyone thought the sky was falling like we were a bunch of chicken littles haha! Truth be told, they were some dark times. Tanking yearly and our young guys never breaking out.
Blowing it all up would make the most since IMO. The haul in terms of draft picks we would get for Lebron and AD would rival what Utah and OKC got. That said, it's not gonna happen because the Lakers don't trade stars unless they ask out and also the Lakers don't do building through the draft.
WMC. For some reason too high a % of the time when I come to the LB home page, not this photo with the (inaccurate ) copy, but this same image of his ugly mug greets me.
