somehow, this year's team might just finish with a worse record than last season's team where 90% of the roster was over 35

Pretty awful that I expect every single three that’s launched by a Laker, with the exception of Reaves, to miss.
    Great roster construction.

Lakers need to make one call they can control this evening. That's DNPing Westbrook until they trade him or let him go at the end of the year.

Depends on when you trade Russ. The longer he stays the worse the record and more he hurts his value.

I could forgive the first 2 losses because GSW & POR are obviously more established Teams than we are right now..
This los to POR is a glaring example of why we SUCK... & it's not all Westbrook.

Hmmmm, it’s almost like we’ve witnessed this before.
The coaching staff should have done their homework and seen all that went down in this same scenario last season.

it's not even just russ being an awful fit. their inability to make 3s is why they are 0-3. how can an NBA team be this bad at shooting? never seen anything like it

Certainly true. The three point shooting will probably set a record in its futility. But we had a nice lead in the fourth and bringing in Russ sealed our fate. Gotta win the winnable games.

I knew we couldn’t shoot but didn’t expect us to be historically bad.

As I said a couple of times in the game thread, even below average shooting instead of absolutely awful shooting and we’re 2-1 right now.

It isn’t all Russ, but it also kind of is. We suck at shooting because you can’t get good shooters on minimum contracts. Our good shooting were players like KCP, Kuz, Wes Matthews (in theory). 2 of those guys were MLE priced player, Wes was 3.something, like the BAE. Danny Green the year before too if you want to count him, he did shoot 37%, he was 15 mil. You don’t get shooting on the minimum unless they are also like horrible on defense like old Melo, you can’t get both. So it is Russ, he needs to be traded for depth. It just needs to happen, and it needs to happen yesterday.

I'm still confident if we can sit out Russ.

Serious question: Does anything change if we go 0-10?

Maybe if Rob didn’t have an underserved extension through 2026 and had some actual incentive to do his job.

Guess 3 games is my limit. Not watching another game until Russ is sent home or better yet, off the team.

I’m so pissed right now, this trade destroyed our title hopes, it ended any chance of a dynasty with LeBron and AD. And they’re still trying to sell us on it in year 2

with the way utah is playing, i'm not so sure they'll even beat them

0-10 is looking very realistic. and the sad part is that nothing will change if that happens

When does Rob hit the panic button? How many losses? Bron and AD are playing really good ball.

The rest of this roster is bad. Walker has been a nice surprise and AR is good but limited with the 8 other guards they have to work in (he's getting squeezed out this year until a trade happens).

These guys hustle and play harder than last year's team, especially on D. BUT they are not good basketball players. I think offensively, we're in the bottom third of talent. Shooting, one of the worst EVER. It's a pathetic waste of greatness.
