The Westbrook trade has been like a nuclear bomb on this team. We'll be dealing with fallout from this for years.

The beginning of it all was signing leBronze. In the end, I wonder if fans will think it was worth it. It was never worth it to me. It felt like selling our soul to the devil tbh.

It’s true. Based on what we’ve seen regarding trades in the time since the Russ one was made, think of the separate trades we could have done for pieces we wanted more if we still wanted to move Kuz, KCP, and Trez during last season. All were on team friendly or expiring deals. Then again, it’s Rob, so they’re probably just traded for Buddy Heild and we still suck.

i didn't like the hield trade, but we'd have been MUCH better off if rob got to just do his job, imo. juronimo was right that the russ trade just bombed the team into the stone age. just a huge, huge mistake.

I can't help but think that if we didn't do the Russ trade that we'd be stuck with Hield and though he's a better fit than RW, he ain't no championship piece AND we'd probably be stuck with him for '22-'23 and '23-'24 and I think Lebron will pack it in by then, basically ruining our LBJ years. At least we have a very good chance of dumping Russ at the deadline this season and if not we have over 42 million in cap space come next summer for what may be a final run with Lebron.

possibly, but we'd still have had that first rounder to either develop or trade, and we'd have had more movable contracts than we did. my guess is we keep caruso, too.

in retrospect, the hield trade was the lesser of two evils. but i can forgive people for not seeing it at the time. i was sort of on the fence between the two at the time. as i said, i never was excited about the sac trade that almost went down--but i also wasn't jazzed about westbrook.

    my WMC?

Seems like another year of unwatchable basketball is on the way with players I feel little to no connection with. Soft players. Fragile players. Narcissistic players. Players more concerned with fashion than blocking out. Scrubs who thinks All Time greats should feel lucky to play with them.

    What could go wrong?

50 pt beatdowns in the preseason turns into 30 pt beatdowns in the regular season.

Looks like another season of unwatchable basketball. Thanks again Lebron, AD and Rob for blowing up our depth for Russ.

signing lebron and trading for AD were both worth it, for sure.

letting them play general manager was not.

Yeah, it was worth it. Team was terrible and would still be dealing with injury issues with guys like Lonzo.

We have a GM. Be mad at him? It’s Rob’s job so if he let Lebron and AD pick a player, that is on HIM. I don’t understand this POV.

1 winning campaign in several seasons of unwatchable basketball wasn’t worth it to me.
