McClung just left South Bay for Warriors SL team. Damn! They value him apparently. Guess our evaluators like smaller, less athletic and similarly skilled (if he actually is??) Pippen more? Handing him the 2 way. Bleep! Was a fan.
From what I’ve seen of Mac and Pippen so far, I prefer Pippen. He’s much better at creating space for his own shot and a better passer. They are both small, so that’s a wash in my book.
I mean it's cool to get excited over an SL game, but it is an SL game. Come back in a year or so and if he is a healthy rotation player, then I would gladly say you were right. And he may well be, but to say the Lakers got it wrong so early is a stretch. Respectfully.
Not saying we got it wrong as in Walker > Christie, although I do think Walker can contribute this year because he has a NBA body and Christie cannot because he doesn't. I'm suggesting we got it wrong because we failed to commit to another buy in at the very end of the draft. He is and will be head and shoulders better than Pip Jr and fills a need at a position we still haven't properly addressed. Big D & 3 wing who can play up a position. From the highlights he shows the same stuff he did in college and will be the same stuff he does in the pros. Even if it's capped as a 11th man, that's something we don't have right now. And Rob pinning addressing that all on filler in a Kyrie trade bouncing his way is a foolish, risky play.
Meh, it isn't that bad. WMC: you guys WMC about the wrong things. Very few of you WMC'ed about trading for Russell Westbrick. LeKlutch is least of my worries.
I used to know every single one of our players names( even the bench warmers) growing up !! Ever since LeBron joined the lakers I have no freaking idea who half of these guys are ! #FREETHELAKERS u guys hyped up Andre Drummond like he was Scottie pippen
You know what my WMC is? Next season is totally f***ed if we don't trade Westbrick now. If we keep him, good luck trying to get him to "buy in" when he knows that LeBron tried to get him off this team for his buddy Kyrie, and that Rob Pelinka tried to get him off this team for Hield/Turner. We've once again backed ourselves into a corner with only one way out...and that is exactly why teams are going to ask for multiple 1sts to get out of Russ. Also - we need to just decide what direction we're going - are we maximizing LeBron/AD or are we going to blow it all up and start over? Going in between, which means keeping Russ and hoping LeBron/AD are healthy, should NOT be an option. We need to decide what we're trying to do and stick with it. We keep going in between and it's frustrating as hell. Why are the Lakers SO scared of giving up 2027 and 2029 picks? Everybody acts like we don't have picks...we DO! 2023 - we have a pick but it can be swapped 2024 - we have a pick but it can be deferred 2025 - we have a pick but it depends on if NOP uses it in 2024 2026 - we have a pick 2027- we have a pick 2028- we have a pick 2029- we have a pick So by my count - we're only losing ONE more pick in the next 7 years as of right now! This whole notion that the Lakers don't have picks is soooo overblown. Even if we gave up 2027 and 2029 - we'd still have 2023, 2024 (or 2025), 2026, and 2028 picks. That's more than enough picks for me and to be honest...we have done so well with scouting that we'll likely find gems in the 2nd round or undrafted during those years like we have in the past...so in reality, we're not losing much by NOT having picks as our scouting more than makes up for it.
The picks aren’t to use they’re trade assets. We can only trade our 27 and 29 picks. If we trade both at once we have ZERO assets left. If the kyrie trade doesn’t work out we’re finished, no way to improve. If we need to make another move at the deadline to improve in some way we can’t see right now, screwed, 29 pick is gone. I don’t get why we are so eager here to just throw away first round picks. Throwing in a pick for Schröder (though sure I get this one) and throwing in one for Russ is why we only have 2 left. It’s poor asset management, and it’s what leaves teams stuck being crap for a decade.
