Starting 2 bigs who don't space with the floor with Russ is a disaster, my guy. AD @ the 5, please. Also, didn't they reportedly discuss LBJ sliding to the 4? They had a lot of nice designs in the preseason? What happened? We reverted to iso-ball. First things first, though. Change the starting lineup, please.
Yeah. I'm hoping those line ups were just due to the injuries and Vogel not knowing AVery would be able to contribute right away. Definitely gotta find a way to let Russ play to his strengths. Two bigs with Russ just aint it in my opinion. Neither is Russ and Rondo.
Yeah. AD needs to play 5 as so many have said so many times. lol Maybe Russ - Bradley - Baze - Lebron - AD?
That's shat I would do. When you trade for Russ, you're stuck with him for better or worse. But damn, give him a shot. Two bigs clogging the paint, and he doesn't have a fighting chance.
Something like that, yes. I have nothing against DJ, he's OK as a backup center, but he's not a starter. AD needs to be our starting 5 if you want the offense to be more smooth. Russ needs to play with some shooters. On a flip side, Bron is proving to be a pretty good shooter himself. 3 guards + Bron + AD = win.
What happened? Ummmm 5 injuries to key rotation players? Whatever with everyone’s opinions on what they don’t want to see and what they do want to see. The coaching staff as a whole collectively is not sitting there NOT seeing how things are going rigjt now with the players we have available to us, trying to incorporate Russ into the team and dealing with the players who were better fits we lost. All I’m saying is the obvious …. or should be with common sense …. he’s got his hands full with all the problems personnel wise mentioned twice now in getting the defense up to speed again, so the “Frank’s offense” comments as if there’s no injuries, no personnel turnover and no other bright guys being paid to collectively figure it out as we get our team back …. are unwarranted and not based in the realities of our “current” situation.
Westbrook would be at his best with Bron at C but we don't have a stretch 4 in Ariza absence in this potential lineup. What's the reasoning behind DJ in the starting 5 ? He's completely washed up regardless of spacing issues
That's a fair argument. Question: do you think our starting 5 would have been different if all of our personnel were healthy? I don't think so, my friend. AD needs to start @ the 5.
agree with LT re: the "frank's dumb offense" stuff. feel like it's lazy to just pin it on the head coach. as for starting AD at the 5, it's clearly the right move, tactically, but i really wonder if they told him (and lebron) that they'd give the dj-as-stopgap-starter thing a real chance before scrapping it. it was one game, and dj wasn't really the issue, nor were the starters, really. it was westbrook with the bench units that really died out there. what do they all have in common? weren't here last year. anyway, i'm concerned about moving AD to full-time 5, even though i know it's right. just worried about injuries there over a full season. even starting him there just for the playoffs makes sense to me, but i really think you'd prefer to buy him 12 minutes per game not wrasslin' bears.
@LaVarBallsDad Maybe. Maybe also for whatever reasons we’re not privy to they are prioritizing trying to figure out best defense against their scouting observations of who we’re playing and what they see in practice from him? All I got, except they did just sign that other seven footer to a 2 way who blocks shots, finishes uppermost percentile around the rim and shoots like 37-38% from 3?
Vogel deserves minimal blame: it's not his fault the stars talked the FO into trading for Westbrook (a guy who doesn't do anything that Vogel wants), then got 2 centers and no defensive wing. Like WTF are you supposed to do when your frontcourt depth after Lebron and AD is DAJ, Howard, and Melo. That's it. I mean he got desperate enough to play Bradley which took balls and guess what it worked till westbrick got put back in
Last night left me pretty rattled. When your two stars score 30+ points, 10+ rebounds, on 50+% shooting, and you still lose . . . that's alarming.
