It's easy to say that the Westbrick trade f'd this team. It sure created another dumpster fire but the team had a few to begin with The truth is that we were a very easy first round exit as well. We just used injuries as an excuse but as a matter of fact, we weren't dominant at any point. We started the season relatively well and were mediocre from December till the end of the season. Sure injuries contributed to the misery but we still weren't great.
well it did lead to the departure of KCP and caruso who were two of the team's best defenders the main problem with this team has been their lack of defense. they went from being one of the best defensive teams in the league the last few seasons to one of the worst. who could've seen that coming when you bring in a million old guys who can only shoot 3s? ariza was supposed to be a defense guy but he's done for. half the roster is dead weight in guys like ellington, bazemore, ariza, DAJ, etc. so that basically leaves lebron, AD who can't stay healthy, westbrook who is a terrible fit, melo, reaves, johnson, monk, THT, and dwight (when frank isn't mad at him) that's not a playoff team at all. the roster looked good on paper before the season but then you realize just how deeply flawed it is
Don’t think we make the play in at this rate. might be better than losing to the Clippers and having to hear about until the end of time though.
Classic '21-'22 Lakers: lethargic BS, fall down by 16, come back. At around 5:30 they were up by 6 and I told my wife: "This is where they can't get a stop and no one can score and they lose." Aaaand: I was right. Again. Gutless, choking prima donnas. 5 future HoFers and they couldn't possibly SUCK more. I hope they lose every effing game the rest of the year. I've been a Laker fan since 1970-71. I've never despised a Laker team like I despise these gutless chokers.
I’m praying we miss the play in at this point. It’s at least an anticlimactic failure. Compare that to us getting eliminated by the Clips? We wouldn’t be able to live that down for a long time.
When you're 7 games BELOW .500 on March 1st, you don't deserve to make any damned "playoffs." Full stop.
Mike Trudell's tweet after yet another LOSS: >Westbrook postgame: "I gotta be better overall. What I’m doing right now ain’t good enough."< Ladies 'n Germs: may I introduce to you...Captain Understatement! >Vogel noted Westbrook’s 0 turnovers as a positive, and said they need to keep supporting him, as he hasn’t been finishing at the rim or knocking down 3’s.< News flash: every fan on every team Russ has EVER played on, as soon as he goes into motion to jack up a 3: "Nooooooooo!" (And they're usually right, of course: the guy can't shoot 3s and shouldn't try when the game is on the line.) Also: look forward to Russ getting "back on the beam" against the Clips and/or GSW, with 7 turnovers at least. If you're a Laker player and your team can't win, no matter what, you know what takes the edge off? All that $$$$$ you're gettin' paid to at least go through the motions of being an NBA "star." And the women.
yeah at this point i really hope they miss the play-in game, especially if it's going to be against the clippers god knows their fans wouldn't shut up about it for years
5 future HOF’ers and no playoffs is just crazy and embarrassing. I’m glad Jeanie walked out and had seen enough. The fans sure have had enough. You expect us to pay premium entertainment rates for this dog crap? Guarantee that has an expiration date. heads need to roll Lebum needs to be one of them. IMHO of course. And AD. And Westbrook. We’re not retiring jerseys for any of you slouching Robins. Next!
Time to rattle off that 10-12 game winning streak that AD was talking about earlier this year. Seriously in danger of missing the playin is not a good look. And remember when Westbrook had that string of like 10 excellent games a while back? Where did that go? He’s absolutely garbage now. He’s singlehandedly destroying us with his shooting. It’s putrid.
missing the play-in game is a good thing if they're going to have to face the clippers which would mean a 0% chance of winning
If we go to the play-in (most certainly) we we'll probably need to win both games in a row as I don't see us go up in the standings. That's an incredible hard task for us right now
36 minute men. That's what this team is. They only play 3 quarters every game. The other 12 minutes is them slapping their kielbasa.
