i'm with all this and have been wondering why it didn't happen right after the deadline. only thing i can think of is money, tbh. and i can't believe i have to entertain this idea. it's an all-timer. not only did we lose from a talent perspective, the downstream consequences for general roster construction were just brutal. yes, yes, slick: we were going to be bad with AD and lebron missing so much time/being old, but being this bad was easily avoidable.
Bron and Melo were the only two who looked like NBA players out there. We won't beat a D3 college if that's all we're entering the gym with. Everyone picked a great time to collectively s*** the bed. And those two have their own warts based on age and father time limitations. If we're starting Dwight, Monk has to take AR's spot. There has to be one shooting threat and maybe he can work himself back into a better rhythm in the starting group.
This is such a disappointing team. They destroyed good chemistry, there is no team culture, there is no effort whatsoever. It's one of the worst Laker teams I have ever had a displeasure to watch. Which is why I don't even watch them anymore. I'll listen to the radio or use the NBA app for live updates, that's about it.
Maybe the reason we’ve been benching Monk is to lower his value to other teams this summer. Unfortunately, the cat's out the bag on him. Only logical explanation I can think of right now.
Don't want to speculate too much without knowing all of what the fans said to the bench to rile up Bron, Ariza, and Russ (saw another report claiming he was involved too) especially considering there's been more racially charges comments directed at the players this year. But if it was just run of the mill smack talk, our guys should've sat there and taken it. Their play was embarrassing and robbed paying fans and those who turned in on national TV to watch them from experiencing a NBA caliber game.
I don't know what has been said, obviously, but if it wasn't something really abusive, they should have sat there quietly, thinking about all those things that went wrong this season. And there's plenty that went wrong. They should really be ashamed of this effort, collectively. Give me back my team I can cheer for. Thanks.
I would think if it was something racist, that Bron or Russ would have had them throw out like what they have made happen in the past. It’s probably that they a upset because fans are finally expressing their dissatisfaction with the product that these player are putting on the floor nightly. I don’t usually agree with booing your own team but I’ll make an exception for this team. These guys are overrated, undermotived and generally easy to dislike.
I remember AD preaching all the time something I love by our championship team: they didn't want to lose 2 games on a row, it was unacceptable by the group. And you could see the effect on the group after a loss (we still lost, even 4 in a row I guess). But when I heard that every time they mentioned it, specially AD, really gave me confidence in the team. That's the basis of a winning team, you cannot accept failure. You need to give a fight every game. You need that hunger. Opponents fear you. They start missing shots. They know you'll come back. Never ever heard that since. These mfs get millions of dollars to do the thing they most love every single day, they know what it takes to win a championship and prefer to make load management, jogging during games, accept defeats and don't give a crap about games. F them. I f miss Kobe goddammit. He wouldn't miss games because some kid could be on the stands and would want to see him. He wouldn't accept any defeat, any complacency. He wasn't perfect, but was the perfect player for a fan. And now we have these mfs prima donnas walking around LA and enjoying life while our team is a joke.
Fan was tossed You're probably right, if it was racist more attention probably would've been brought to it. Before covid, I wouldn't even consider anything else. But since covid, it's like people forgot how to behave in public and we've seen since ugly stuff throughout the league ever since arenas opened back up.
i was thinking gsw in was in big trouble this past off season when curry/green sorta gripped bout being a win now team and they wanted vets over the draft picks.....their mgmt held firm and now have 2 budding young guys that could possibly take over once curry/klay are done and yet still contending, our mgmt on the other hand keep trading away picks like its going out of style
