The shooting is not going to cut it. Missed 16 straight 3s after Bron's initial triple. We get a F in that department.

I hate every small ball group I saw on the floor tonight. There's no one who can stop any interior action if AD isn't at the rim. If any/all of the 4 of the other guys are in the paint, Wolves just went over them. Transition D was pathetic from those groups. If you're small but you can't shoot, can't D, and are sloppy with the ball then what's the point?

Yeah... AD, Nunn, Dennis, Brick and AR did it for me. We have another d****** for a coach... No justification for that s***.

    It isn't the coach, IMO

    Blame the roster construction.

We knew this before the season.

We're going to need to make changes.

Agreed, I said Rob did Ham no favors with this roster. Basically we looked like a 7th or 8th seed team as expected.

Roster construction? Our roster forced Ham to put 3 midgets, AR and AD on the floor? It couldn't have been Dennis AR Ryan Gabriel AD? Or any other resaonable combo?

Yeah... I am not buying it. And he's done it a couple of other times too.

It didn’t take 10 games to see the problems of an imbalanced roster. Just send BRICK home

    Correct. He's also still experimenting.

And we may see more of this going forward.

The roster construction is bad. Maybe he tightens it up at some point, but I think this will continue.

    But hey, we can disagree.

No small ball! If you want AD at the 5 it has to be with Gabriel at the 4 and Reaves plus JTA or Walker

you can’t play 3 pg lineup with AD at the 5

this is a return to last seasons nightmare where every team outrebounded and shot over the Lakers

I see we're back to 25% from 3 Lakers. AD and Russ 0-for.....can't even beat T-Wolves scrubs with our regulars.

Yeah. I was saying similar earlier. It’s not just that we’re going with small ball but that we have guys who aren’t known as good shooters or defenders.

Good teams and coaches will exploit that all year.

Of course we can. I simply find it hard to believe that an NBA coach, even rookie, couldn't tell what would be the result of this specific experiment.

Right. I didn’t like the small ball line ups at all but also felt like he was experimenting with what he’s got to work with.

Since it’s WMC thread, I’ll just go ahead and throw these tweets from everyone’s favorite Twitter guy on the fire. Lol

Jokes aside, without a trade we’re going to see these three guard lineups. Lack of shooting was glaring last night and the Wolves were shooting over us. It would’ve been worse if KAT and Gobert were around.

Just not a good night despite LeBron and AD playing well.

Westbrick, Swider or Ryan, more or less are equal in the defensive end. Maybe we should try the shooters in Brick’s stead which gives us a chance and not insist on these insane 3 to 4 guards line up.

We’re going to have to do something. Russ certainly wasn’t the only guy stinking it up out there.

It starts with BRICK because he just isn’t a fit, a complete handicapping system on his own.

My dream starting line up which will not happen is AD, Swider or Ryan, Bron, HBK and Nunn. Just a balanced line up of hustle defense and shooting

i watched the game, and the "tiny team" narrative is stronger than reality. they weren't shooting OVER anyone. they were consistently wide open. this wasn't about being small. nor was the rebounding, as nobody was just going over anyone there, either. we were so out of position defensively that we couldn't box out.

our open threes will drop more than they did last night in most games we play, imo. everyone was just ice cold in the same game, which hasn't happened in other games thus far.

my wmc is after all the talk of defense, we don't look a lot better than last year there. a little but not a lot. and we needed to be a top defense to overcome russ on offense. that's out the window, i think. i also think this is why we saw the late shift to AD as a full-time 5--ham figured out what many knew the whole time about the offense with russ and a non-AD center, freaked out and chucked defense.

for the record, i'd still rather start a center next to AD and commit to defense-first.

Let’s see if Ham has the balls to put Russ on the bench. Russ with the starters is the wrench in the gears forcing these weird lineups.

    Bev/Russ
    Nunn/Reeves
    Lebron/Walker
    AD/Lebron/Gabriel
    Bryant/AD/Jones
