definitely. we'd need his agent to work his magic, though, and pritchard REALLY hates us. i don't see us dealing with them. he burned the bridge during the PG fiasco, which is why he'll end up getting fired here, too, imo.

Lopez had a game where he had one more rebound than a dead man...

Zero chance Indiana trades Turner to LA. Lakers need a ball handling 3rd star anyways. Bigs are needed but not that much. Even if they are good.

This reminds me of Magic Johnson's "you can't out Golden State Golden State" and ran a team out there with just 1 center. We could have used slomo that year, but hey we won the championship the following year so all good

It’s bumming me out that the road to the title is getting easier every day. Had we not gone down to injuries we beat Phoenix, then we face a Denver team Phoenix just swept. On the East side multiple players are injured, this could have been a missed opportunity to repeat. I blame the NBA and their quick turnaround.

yeah, it's a bummer, but we got through healthy under weird circumstances last year, so i think it washes out a bit. i'm actually relieved that at least we didn't break one of our stars this year. yes, it can always happen, but it really felt like we on the cusp, imo. let's get some rest and see what next year holds. i think we have as many or more avenues to improvement relative to other contenders, and we still have the best two stars, all things considered.

anyway, this is wmc: so yes, we had an easy path to the conference finals if our guys could walk.

final caveat: if both clippers guys were healthy, we might have lost to those bastards, so at least that didn't happen.

Amazing how ZERO Lakers players made the All-NBA defense teams but a team like Philly can have three players in the All-NBA defensive teams. Lakers had the #1 defense in the league... And how the hell is Kawhi still making all-NBA defensive teams? Total joke!

yeah, three sixers on the all-d team was weird. you'd think they must have been the best defensive team in nba history. but...not really.

and i guess vogel's coach of the year because we had the league's best defense and apparently no good defensive players.

It’s expected but I can’t help but be annoyed that now people are acknowledging the impacts of the shortened season and injuries but they were all so quick to trash AD and LeBron.

Yeah where is Chuck Barkley and his “street clothes” line now? It could apply to nearly a star player or two on every team left standing.

right. how is leonard--who rests all season long--immune to criticisms regarding durability? when paul goes down, there won't be any streetclothes comments. barkley's a clown, and he's clearly jealous of AD because he was able to hook up with another star before he ate himself into oblivion.

harden got a couple cheap fouls on giannis, iirc, too. just junk they'd never call for other players or against giannis if it were on any other player.

I’m really hoping they follow through on making this kind of motion a no call. Harden and Trae will actually have to make shots instead of hunting for fouls.

as much as i would hate to see the clippers win a title, i'd take that any day over harden winning one. that would be a terrible day for basketball

eh, if kd drags harden to a title, it might be sort of fitting.

    My Current Negative Title Order:

    Never the C Bags
    Clippers
    Suns
    Nets

Still hoping the Jazz somehow get their guards healthy and win out in the West. Since that won't happen, I hope the Suns sweep the Clips. I'm also hoping Giannis has one game where he makes shots beyond 5 feet. But since the Nets will make the Finals I prefer them over either the Clips or Suns. Harden's ring will have a permanent personal asterisk since KD will have dragged him over the finish line. While I can't stand KD's personality I respect his game and his comeback from the Achilles.

My negative title order is similar and goes:
    C Bags
    Tenants
    Nets

Antoni Nash and Harden winning a ring means hell has frozen over, asterisk or not. The basketball gods will not be pleased.

I don’t mind the Suns as much. They beat us so if they go all the way I won’t feel bad about it. I don’t like Crowder, Booker, or CP3 but the fact is they are playing great ball and I can’t deny it. Go everybody but the tenants and Nets.
