Yeah I don't get the negativity either: the Lakers are missing 3 starters and 2 MVP candidates.
-Yeah the Nets are doing ok but they have Harden who has shown he can win you regular season games by playing god forsaken Harden ball already
-Pre Lebron injury you could see that the Lakers were clicking once DS came back. This was a rock solid playoff team who gave teams fits with their guard heavy screen and roll game
-now Lebron is gone along with AD/Marc and this team is very very small and guys like KCP/Caruso/Kuzma are being asked to do things they are not good at it. Kuzma is a great roleplayer now but we all now he's not a great ballhandler - he thrives off cuts, catch and shoots etc..

I hope the lakers don't go to crazy at the trade deadline: I really like this team if the Lebron and AD are healthy. If they can get Drummond is a great rotation that causes other teams fit in terms of defensive versatility and the ability to complement AD/James with different offensive looks

They have absolutely no rim protection right now. Lebron was an awesome help defender (see the Hornets game): now teams know the Lakers can get up the drive as you have only freakin Harell and Morris behind you. Defense is going to suffer when you have two guys who are tweeners playing the 5

Yesterday they played without Harden and Durant. Kyrie did not play either, looked that up, it was "personal reasons". That dude is a piece of s***. Anyhow, I digress, they lost by 30 points to the Jazz and it wasn't that close. There is not a team in the league who can miss 3 starters and two superstars and play decent at all.

was coming to post that nets thrashing. it's what happens.

my only wmc is that a couple of our players might feel jerked around and that injuries have tanked our regular season.

i like that we stood pat at the deadline and think we can improve via buyout.

It was the right move under our current circumstances . Rob would have given THT to Toronto if Bron and AD were healthy imo .

Not a fun day. Didn’t improve the team. Learned Bron will miss another 20 games or more - yikes!! And we will get embarrassed tonight by Dwight, Doc and the 6ers.

    Oh, and Rondo.
And Denver bulked up to battle Ad and Trez.

At least Bron and Ad are getting rest.

20 games? don't think he'll be out that long

buyout market is the best way for this team to improve, not trading DS and THT for kyle lowry or oladipo

Eff you Danny. Along with every last shooter that has failed to do that wearing a Lakers uniform.

Dumb defense cost us this game . How many times did we double one pass away on Sixers post up ?

Make Simmons a scorer ... Better to eventually give up 2pts hook shots than open 3s .

Lack of rotations to the corners cost us some points too .

Our former superstar, Danny Green, really torched us yesterday.

This is another reminder that when shooters come to the Lakers, expect a 10-15% drop in 3P FG %. And when they leave expect them to pick up where they were before they came to us. I'm somewhat exaggerating, but we've never been an elite shooting team.

    i really don't get it

it has to have something to do with increased pressure to perform well since it's the lakers. at least that's what i'm guessing

Nah it just means we need to find someone who's shooting 55% or higher from 3. More margin for error.

    Being negative. Being real. Whatever.

The Lakers may be fighting for a 7 or 8 seed. Aging star player plus an injury-prone one. Risky business. And a team built to compliment them, not win without them. Watching them fail without real improvement is frustrating.

Positives are more playing time and experience for Kuz, THT, and Trez, which should help when the others return, and full rest for Bron.

I am ok taking on the Jazz or Suns or Nugs in round one. But we MUST get Drummond and another FA.

The one exception to the rule for us was Trevor Ariza. he got so insanely hot from 3 during that 2009 playoff run. I think he 47% or something. I don't think he ever shot that well before or since.

Ugh horrible take from Kendrick Perkins on ESPN First Take...said we should have given up KCP, Dennis Shroeder, and THT for Lowry. Are people insane and only look at the names? We're giving up depth...our only real shooter (I know he's not shooting well right now, but no one is on this team), a PG that yes is arguably less talented, but much younger and our only young asset for a 35-year-old PG who wants an extension after this year. Wtf?

Yeah THT made that a no go. Schroder and KCP? Sure but Toronto insisting on THT killed it. That’s too much for a guy who becomes a FA this summer.
