While this is true, I still would like to see them play along side each other at the 4 and 5 positions respectively when teams go small. You can get the best of both worlds developing the two, and I want to see how they fit from a basketball perspective next to each other.

    This team is 5-27.

What are the front office doing? Third year of tanking in a row and they're not even developing the young guys they tanked the last 2 years for. Makes no sense

Sense? You want sense? It's like analytics to Boron ..... has no use for it. I'm surprised Vitti didn't smack him upside his head verbally for putting Kobe back into the game after icing his shoulder.

Listening to Ramona and one of the Kam bros on ESPN LA 710 right now and they are talking some real talk.

Ramona said she hasn't been watching the Lakers much lately and when the Kam bro read the mins played for Randle and Russell all she could say is "wow, what's going on?". Also said it must be a management plan since they are okay with BS playing Lou 36 mins a game, Bass playing more than the young guys.

Then they also brought up Kobe's mins. 32 seems to be BS min limit no matter how banged up he is. He was going to sit out Memphis but manned up since it's his last time there, same with Charlotte. Saying why isn't Jeannie stepping in, does she not realize that the business side is going to take a hit when Kobe goes down in a couple weeks. When on the last game all he can do is wave at half court before and after the game. Saying how old fashioned Lakers management is, Jeannie cares for only business and Jim only basketball.

I've lost all faith in Jeannie, she's using Kobe's selling tickets to hide behind how poorly this team is being managed and how bad a coach B0ron is. And I have news for her, the second Kobe goes down with a bad injury from being mismanaged by B0ron, the people are going to stop coming to the games. I haven't watched 3 of the last 4 Lakers games and I'm this close to stopping completely. I'm really almost done with this, guys, I can only take so much. I watch the Lakers for fun, entertainment, an escape, not to get pissed off and have my night ruined. If we're bad but we're giving our all and losing closer games and making progress as a franchise I can take it, but we are going backwards and I'm not gonna put up with it much longer. Some point soon I'm just gonna stop watching until B0ron is fired, we make some sort of trade, or for Kobe's final games.

Strange thing is, Jeanie always i mean ALWAYS had success running a business/team. With the right coach, things would look sooooooooooooo much better.

Kobe can still be appreciated by fans everywhere even if it's just a cameo appearance (see: KG in Boston). I really don't get it. Play the guy 5 mins or so in the 1st Q then limit him for the rest of their game. 30+ minutes is ABSURD for a guy that's broken down the past few years. I don't understand the overdependence on a broken down former great that's on his way out.

As for Jeanie... either she's waaaayyyyy too busy looking at pics of babies in Lakers gear on Twitter (cuz that's all I see her do on her feed!) or she really has no clue... If it's the latter then the finger then points next to the other Buss sibling who's charge of basketball ops then to his right hand man Mitch.

I don't know... it is such a big fat mess right now and yes... it does start at the top. If "basketball is a business" (which it is in the NBA) then Jeanie gets the blame first and foremost for not being proactive at this whole Byron & Kobe situation (and our young assets). If she wants an example of how other teams are conducting "business" lately when they're doing poorly, someone throw a Phoenix newspaper at her and see what Sarver did after they lost to the Sixers. Hell... throw a Philly one too since the Sixers are trying to fix their situation. They didn't fire their coach, but they got a good assistant and new prez to oversee their rebuild in a better way.

Come to think of it... that Sixers move was because other owners pressured their management because of lost revenue from a big market team. Maybe it's also now time other owners pressure Jeanie. We all know how big of a brand the Lakers are.

Honestly they're probably having trouble thinking about Byron objectively too given his history with the team. That is also why they should have never made the hire in the first place. Didn't someone say Jeanie regarded Byron like a brother? That's bad for business.

Jim never took nekked pictures holding only basketballs, so I blame him for everything. Jeannie gets the benefit of the doubt a while longer in my book LOL

Games like this prove that we don't suck nearly as bad as our record, B0ron is what sucks. Tonight we got out and ran, the young guys did their thing and we won. Hell, Kobe shot terribly yet we still were able to get it done. Screw B0ron for ruining this season. I hope we keep winning, lose that pick, and the FO suffers for condoning this garbage when we should be much better. We don't deserve to be rewarded for tanking, and I refuse to root for losses because B0ron isn't getting fired regardless.

Well said Weezy! Yeah, I'm actually hoping we can make a little run now against Philly and the Suns. Great to get the win tonight!

You could still run with Kobe and Hibbert, all you really need are JC/Russ/Rand running transition and have Kobe or Hibbert be the trail man.

There's probably a dozen posts I had before the season started that said this exact thing... Sigh.

No because they are going to slow the game down for Kobe to get his touches .

If the yougins pushed the ball as they get the rebound , Kobe would never touch the rock .

You don't push the ball every possession, there's a balance they could have figured out if the rotations and lineups were figured out early in the season. Kobe can still be involved in transitions, we see that a couple times every game. Heck yesterday I saw him pull back on a 3-1 fast break so he didn't get in the way.

    It's completely doable.

Yeah Kobe would do what Paul Pierce made a career out of in the second half of his career: step into a transition three pointer. That was my dream.

Russell, Randle, Clarkson push hard with eventually Clarkson drifting to the corner to space. Kobe trails to the three point line, and Hibbert trails late down the middle. By the time Hibbert trails down, Clarkson comes back up just in case and he and Kobe get back on transition defense. It's text book and I don't know why we aren't encouraging that. It makes no sense to me. It's the easiest way to get young kids points AND it's a way to get them to focus defensively more so that they can get out and score. Byron played in an offense a hell of a lot like that and yet it's not something he even considered?
