    Yea nothing from Worthy either.

Then again, it would be ironic for him to be critical given how he too is part of the coaching staff.

It's really unbelievable how bad we can be with the talent we have.

This is unacceptable.... seriously, is there anything we can do that can go viral? Can someone make a youtube video and have it go viral and show just how terrible this coach is?

Im numb at this point. For the first time in 28 years idgaf about the Lakers. I hate the fact, that it happens when we have 3 young and potentially good/great players. I hate the fact that it's Kobe who delivered the dagger (im not surprised about Byron f***ing things up, i knew that the moment we hired this clown). FML

The majority of people who is buying Lakers home tickets ( and the most expensive ones) isn't die hard fans so it's more difficult to have a major impact in this area .

You LA based folks can impact the TWC audience rates by stopping watching games , this is the best thing to do I guess

Magic speaks....about Jim Buss....again.... Can't say I disagree with him on this one, but he really should comment on his buddy Scott.

I think Buss and Mitch have been respectable on bringing in talent. Byron is just the wrong guy for the job

Magic is a moron. It's like walking into a class full of bad kids and only scolding one for being bad because you don't like him and not saying anything to the others doing same thing because they are your friend's kid.

If that idiot wants to speak, criticize all the idiots in the organization because Jim Buss isn't solely sinking this ship. It's Byron, Kobe, Jeanie Buss, Mitch, etc.

Bad coaching, selfish play, tank one day playoffs the next, poor FA meetings. It stinks top to bottom and needs to be cleaned out. Call a spade a spade Magic, your boy is a terrible coach and Kobe has lost his mind.

I mean there's tanking for the benefit of hopefully keeping the pick, and then there's potential damage to these young players.

Yes, these guys are professionals, individuals capable of making their own choices and deciphering what is good and what is bad basketball to remain self-motivated to improve in spite of losing and a toxic chemistry environment. But, they are also very young men, impressionable and vulnerable to emotional reactions (see okafor) and internalizing the self from the relationships and environment around the self. As scary as it is, Byron is a mentor, teacher, and father-figure to these young men. Put mind-boggling bad X's and O's aside because those philosophies and habits can be unlearned.

The true worry is the potential emotional damage being done by a father figure who is stubbornly unfair and proud of it, holding certain players accountable with short leashes and other players free to sabotage the entire team for personal gain (kobe gets to chuck because he's retiring). There's tremendous resentment, frustration, negativity, and discouragement being built in that locker room per Nick Young's comments. What happens with those emotions when there's nothing they can do to change it or even speak out about it to vent? It can become self-motivated fire to get even better (Clarkson last year) or it can become apathy and a loss of love for playing the game. "This is what my dream of playing in the NBA has become? F*** this." I hope guys like Hibbert are taking the youngsters under his wing explaining to them how utterly egregious things are and how they'll all be over soon, and to hang in there.

There's losing. And then there's how we're losing. This is unacceptable and not worth the top 3 pick. Byron has to go and someone brought in who will reign Kobe in. (There's still plenty of reasonable ways to let kobe shine on his parade lap, btw)

The best Lakers coach in the last 5 years has been Bernie Bickerstaff, and it's not even close. That makes me numb.

    Dear Lakers:

I've had it. You've done something I never thought could happen: I've given up on this team. After two years of suffering through 20 win seasons, injuries, and frankly pathetic rosters I've remained faithful. I didn't leave after Mike Brown or Mike D'Antoni. I didn't leave after Dwight Howard. I didn't leave after Steve Nash. Every year we could come up with an excuse. The coach didn't fit. There were injuries all over the place. There was some chemistry issues. Whatever excuse you threw my way, I was willing to listen because there would come a time when we were on top again. That was supposed to be this year. This year was supposed to be the triumphant rise from the ashes. The young players would give us hope. Kobe would give us one last season of glory. More than either of those though, Byron would give us the powerful Laker dream again. Byron would rebuild our championship culture by letting Kobe age gracefully which is what Kobe needed. Byron would help our young players grow into the cornerstones they're meant to be. None of that was true though, was it? Byron was always about the feel good story, not the talent. Most of us knew that, but hoped he could at least be better than the numbers indicated. Instead he was brought as the grim reaper of the franchise. He has enabled Kobe to be basically an only child, holding back the development of our young players. Byron has no plan offensively or defensively, he has no vision, he has no answers. He doesn't understand modern basketball and at this point it's clear he's an awful coach. Instead of trying to rein him in, you've enabled him to make this entire year a mockery. A sham. You've let Byron turn Kobe into an idiot and no one on your staff is willing to call out Byron or Kobe. What message does that send to the young players? When they're older they're allowed to do whatever they want without penalty? No. Every year I've felt like the team has hit rock bottom and every year you've found a way to keep digging deeper. I've had it. I'm letting go. This is the worst I've ever felt as a Laker fan and I can't watch this anymore. I can't watch what is essentially your propaganda with Worthy and Horry in studio. I can't watch the games that have no plan, no execution. I can't even watch as our young players struggle to understand how to play in the NBA and you let the ship go down in flames. I'm done. We as fans deserve more than this. We as fans deserve respect. We as fans deserve not to be served garbage and told it's a meal. We're smarter than that. We're a laughing stock around the league right now from other fans, to other front office executives, to other players around the league. You think this is going to draw free agents? What player would want to join this team? Do you think we're going to just sit around as you destroy what used to be the greatest franchise in professional basketball? Do you have no respect for your fans? Enough is enough. I've had it.

    - A lost fan.

Honestly though, as right as Bernie was in that case where he had a group of all veterans, this team is the opposite in terms of make up. The starters have two rookies and one second year player. They need mentorship, development and a lot of direction, none of which Byron or Kobe is giving them right now. I don't know who the best fit would be right now, but probably a young-ish coach with a very hands-on approach as opposed to Bernie's let 'em play cause they're vets style, which was brilliant in that situation.
