Wmc 15/16: We are finally at the END! BYE BYRON!!!

Kobe's legacy is secure. Doesn't matter what happens from here on out in regards to effecting his legacy. I don't how anyone can use this season to somehow negate his place in NBA history. Dude is a 5 time champ, provided nearly two decades of greatness before being run into the ground by MDA. Like Mitch said Kobe's mindset isn't gonna change. Sure you'd like it too, but it's not because it's not on him. He only knows one way and if you wanna call it selfish fine, but that one way has given us five titles. It's easy for us to sit here and tell Kobe to defer or give it up, but from his perspective he's argurably the greatest player in franchise history. A first ballot Hall of Famer. He's long since been the NBA's version of Superman. He's done it his way and that way resulted in one of the all time great careers in basketball history. He goes from Superman to barely even a starting caliber player anymore because of the Achilles injury. Now we expect him to completely change his mindset twenty years in. That's unrealistic. Fact of the matter is he's not the one holding the young guys back. It's the coach if you use that term loosely. He doesn't put Kobe or any of these players in positions to succeed and he's stuck in the 1980's. Won't make any adjustments, but it is what it is. He'll be gone after this season. So will Kobe, but I'm not gonna throw dirt on the man after everything he's done. I wish he could change the way he plays, but he just can't. If I was him I couldn't either.

 

Does anyone know what the odds are of landing in the lottery if we end up with the 2nd or 3rd worst record?

Can Philly really be that bad? Seriously any other team the coach would have been unceremoniously tossed out the door. Well maybe except the Lakers. For a fan it would be extremely hard for me to accept loosing on purpose just to acquire top draft picks.

 

wmc for today: philly is probably expecting a win tonight. and this is sensible.

 

I've just got this feeling we lose this one which could be the domino that eventually leads to Byron not lasting the season.

Man, I hate this. I post tank picks and have fun with it, but I hate the idea. I refuse to even get into that this year.

 

I hear you. I didn't think tanking would be a relevant topic this year given the top-three protection on that pick and my belief that our team would be halfway decent, but 2-14 is 2-14.

Given the way our season is going, I'm not even thinking wins/losses at this point. I just root for our young guys to develop and look good in the process. Would be nice to see Russell have a good game against Barfights Okafor.
