I've been searching high and low on here and other sites to try and find one single post defending Scott...crickets... Even D'antoni had peeps defending him. Never thought he'd be the Messiah, but what I see every game is horrid coaching from start to finish. He's far worse than any coach the Lakers have ever had.

I really hope we change our approach next summer. Woj's full article on Aldridge is also worth a read.

Well I mean yea...talking hoops with Byron Scott as your coach? I can see why they tried to avoid/cover it up.

From transcripts of the meeting, Byron's one comment, "Just going to say this right up front LeMarcus..... if you come to the Lakers you're going to need to Man Up. That's all I got for now."

I heard Byron said nothing, just walked in with a giant bag of sand over his shoulder, poured it out on the floor, and pretended to swim in it for the duration of the meeting, in an effort to demonstrate the power of grit.

"118.8- Brandon Bass' defensive rating. He should probably never play center, and certainly not while sharing the floor with Ryan Kelly. At least that experiment seems to be over."

Why does everyone but Byron understand this!

Bass probably hates this. He's a typical strong 4, with a decent mid-range jumper. But he is simply not put in a position to succeed. Poor guy looks like a scrub out there.

He threw down a great dunk vs. Orlando, and he has a decent jumper. Put the dude at the 4 already.

    Russell (32)/Huertas (10)/JC (6)
    Clarkson (28)/Williams (20)
    Young (30)/Nance (18)
    Randle (32)/Bass (16)
    Hibbert (30)/Black (18)

Just establish this and run it for a few games.

You forgot the player with the most usage plus the worst rating, the albatross hurting the team's development ....Kobe.

OK I guess I am finally going to chime in in the thread I created. crazy.

I, like many of you, am done with the Byron experiment. This team has too much (albeit raw) talent to be 1-7. As an optimist I picture us fighting for 6-7-8 in the West with possibly not making it. I didn't think we were going to be a Champion (secretly I wish) or anything like that but a respectable team that would win a lot more games than last season for sure. Only being able to watch 3 games so far this year I have seen enough to understand that the coach is incompetent at best. There is absolutely no reason for how this team is playing especially with guys who are fighters. Unlike everyone else I don't care if Kobe takes 20 shots I do care if every one of them come off isolation plays. Watching all of our shots come from ISO plays makes me want to punch a baby which I believe is wrong. Mitch and Jim have done a great job in rebuilding this team with young talent and a bright future they deserve a ton of credit for that BUT it is time to cut the cord and ax Byron. Total disgrace seeing what we are doing. ...

OK back to my Optimism.... Raiders and Kings are playing well :)

I mean, I get it, but that's still disappointing. We had no basketball to talk, our coach is a moron, and our biggest selling point were 3 rookies, 2 of them unknowns in the league. I assume the only real selling point we had then was living in LA and marketing opportunities. Kobe didn't hurt us, but he's not a selling point, we're 8 games in and he's already missed 2 with a sore back. Then on the other side you have a stacked Spurs team and the best coach in the league. Whatever Byron would say would sound laughable compared to whatever Pop would say.

Realistically I think the Lakers are a couple of years away from attracting a free agent. Until we get a respectable coach and assemble a respectable team nobody is gonna wanna play for the Lakers.
