When was our last win? My God, it's frustrating. Just win one Byron

I think they win Sunday. I will WMC about the fact that the three point defense is still lacking. Guys just aren't rotating fast enough if helping, just aren't recovering properly. Hopefully that gets fixed.

It's a fun team to watch and root for. I've maintained all off season that it's going to be hard for them to get wins in the west, which we all know. I predicted low 30s and that hasn't changed for me. They are too young and too old at the same time to beat the majority of teams in the west, and the team as constituted just has not played together at all. It's a work in progress.

I do see that they are going to play hard though and fight regardless of wins/losses and that's a good sign. Bottom line, we're rebuilding.

I still feel like we end up somewhere between 30 and 35 wins. I view any playoff talk as wishful thinking.

As far as the preseason losses, I think we are way more focused on getting guys some playing time, seeing what we have, and getting guys some chemistry on the floor. We don't seem to be nearly as concerned about wins as our opponents who all seem to be playing their starters more than us. Don't have the actual numbers, but it definitely seems like we are content to keep our third string guys in the game while everyone else is playing their starters.

It's the preseason. I remember attempting to find every positive thing going into the regular season as well last year, and I was optimistic we'd be a halfway decent team, but that didn't turn out so well. Either way, I agree with you 'if' this roster stays as constructed; that I am not so sure of...I can still see Young/Kelly/Sacre being shopped for another impact player. Honestly, I think we're one impact wing away (think Ariza) of contending for that 8th seed, IMO.

I feel like we have to overcome our coaching no matter how much talent is on the floor. Today I feel like we have talent to be a playoff team if well coached, but I also have concerns we'll be sub .500 because our execution will be lacking. Most games decided by 5 points or less scare me right now, as I feel there is a good chance that we end up on the short end of the stick.

That, and I'm irritated and tired at work because I decided to stay up and watch that s***.

Scott's barometer is 32 wins for me. We have enough playmaking on this team to overcome his lack of ball movement and player movement within his offense. Defensively, I think we'll be marginally better as we get more time together. I think the Lakers want Scott here for 2 more years. That's unfortunate because there are some good head coaches that could do a better job than Scott next year...

Hey everyone! Not exactly new, was a member at clublakers and been reading here from the get go.

Now I registered for one question: why is Black not playing?!

I read CD so he's not injured. He was pretty damn good in SL (wasn't he?) and our main backup at C is Sacre AND other pfs and Cs are playing instead of him... What did I miss?

    Go Lakers!

I think the main reason is that he has already made the team and Byron is trying to decide between Sacre and Upshaw as the third center.

That would at least make a little sense but i'd be pissed if i was him and i belive preseason should also be about finding a groove together as a team (i think)... Also, WE already know sacre and Kelly should go, so... ;)

Well the lakers play next game Maccabi Haifa from my country, which is a really bad team compare to NBA level. That will be a chance for all of our guys to get together and explode for a full game.

I hope that's the thinking. I'd be upset if we let go of Black, but I haven't heard much about him lately. It makes me nervous.

Wes: Hey Lin! Wassup my asian brutha from anutha mutha?! Yo, can you believe we are finally free from the prison that was the Lakers yo?

Lin: I know right!? Scott was a terrible coach, and dealing with Kobe, and everyone fighting for contracts...... messed with my video making time. I mean, you have to score more than the other team to win. Defense? WTF?! His rotations were whack!

Wes: Yeah, I know right?! Ownership that can't get along, rebuild or reload, so much indecision.... that place was a total nightmare.

Lin: And the high cost of living...

Wes: yeah, and some broken down has been alleged legend bugging you all the time acting like he has wisdom to impart....

Lin: Yeah, I wish they wanted me back too. I miss them.

Wes: Yeah, this really sucks. We had it ALL. Rejection feels awful.

Lin: I'd give anything to be back....

    Wes: Me too.
