My fellow Laker family. People always say Laker fans are bandwagoners because they always win and its easy to be their fans. This past 5 years has certainly proven that people stick with the purple and gold, no matter what. I can say I love the Lakers today as much as I did during the 3 peat back then. I don't have the same emotions about these players because they haven't really achieved anything yet for us to command that love and respect but thats got nothing to do with the franchise.
Phenomenal post, KB24. I came to LB with the rest of the CL vets back when the site first launched. The experience is night and day, you guys have really done an outstanding job with this website. Crazy to think that I joined CL back in 2006, and I have been reading up on the Lakers with all of you since then. 12 years! I lurk most of the time, but I come here every day to catch up on everything Lakers.
I come here because we’re Laker fans and no matter the discussions and/or disagreements it’s like family. At the end of the day we all want the same thing and that’s cool, I love that. I started back with CL, but lost all my info and then I found this site and saw that it had migrated from there and that was that. Happy I found you guys again. I also am happy to be part of the hate LLLLLLebron crew. Makes things fun and puts things into perspective for everyone. Yeah...
Few know what it means to truly follow a team. You guys are among them. Other than that, it's strange to me how basketball is covered in the media and how it's consumed by younger/new fans. I'm sure most of us remember the early 2000s when the NBA was almost like a niche interest. I'm happy the game is more popular, but there is A LOT of crap to dodge out there... The ESPN/FS1 stuff - whether it be the constant debates or the skewed statistical "greatest _____ ever in the NBA" happening every other week - is exhausting to say the least. And don't get me wrong, I enjoy instant replays in the palm of my hand. However the reddit/twitter/instagram crowds saying "OMG BEASTBROOK IS BEASTING RIGHT NOW" every night is too immature for me. This place is a throwback in some ways, and for all the best reasons. Cuts out a lot of the fluff, yet good info still makes it's way here. Not to mention most of the users have a good handle on Laker/NBA history too. Good info, good takes and less BS. Cheers LB
I’ll send your $20 by PayPal I take that as a huge compliment like you don’t even know. I’m here because you guys are family, and some of you have walked through some pretty difficult life struggles with me, attended games together, car chased across So Cal before I met your dog, invited me into your family’s inner circle, visited other countries to meet, asked to be a Godparent etc. You guys are family. My day just isn’t complete without logging in here to cut up for awhile. You guys never disappoint or fail to provide a hearty lol, great insight, or a reason to return. It’s pretty freaking cool to be a member of such a cool community and to contribute. I pray that the potential influx of Bronsexuals won’t change that.
Oh, and I really like the “Like” feature I feel so affirmed and can feel simultaneously so supportive by just the click of a button. No words exchanged, just a virtual nod. And likewise, if you say something dumb and receive no likes, you might as well delete that post and pretend it never happened.
Because everyone including Shaq thinks it was dumb. But I get too many to go to all that hassle. Bleep y'all.
Have been absolutely slammed these days and it has been a minute since I was last on, but I missed the discussion on here!
Sometimes the world out there is tough, this place has become my escape and kinda like a home away from home when it comes to my Lakers. This place is like a family with many well respected opinions. Thank you all for making this place wonderful.
HAHA! I know, I really should, I try to as much as I could but there are so many insightful members here, I get spoiled. One of you guys will post my thoughts and I'll just continue scrolling, lol.
...great place to commiserate in misery, circle the wagons and HOPEFULLY sometime next week relish happiness. All's I got.
Man, I had to check the attendance tracker on the side off the Home Page and looks like nearly everyone is here. it reminds me of the first day of school!
