same reason i posted at CL great insight on all things lakers and great discussion with fellow diehard lakers fans. and to witness @sirronstuff 's hate for lebron now say it with me everyone, F the C Bags
I love typing out thoroughly researched essays that people will mostly skim through. If only I dedicated this much time and effort to my paying job.
Knowledgeable & (mostly) Mature Members here. Not a lot of drama & idiocy. Lots of insight to CBA, Contracts & off the court business as well. Oh.. & I'm a Lifetime Laker Fan & Basketball Junkie, so Where TF else am I supposed to go..?
Serious answer, it’s the best Laker forum there is. The community from CL was already the best, and the move here only made it better because of all the updated features. The game time chat is way better than having to make gamday threads like I did for every single game, and so much easier to follow. The multiple color schemes are great, the ability to embed pretty much any media with a simple copy and paste is so convenient, and Sirron’s emoji’s are the best around (except we need a *shrug* one still ). The main thing is the discussion though. After lurking on some other Lakers forums recently to follow all the tweets and news and rumors as they come, the folks over there simply aren’t as friendly or respectful. I’m not trying to knock other sites, they’re fine, there’s just a lot of people sniping at eachother, constant rude comments to eachother (and other stuff like people mocking Ramona Shelburne’s weight), it’s way more civil here even when people disagree strongly on a point. On top of all that in the end I couldn’t turn down the salary Barns offered me to come here as CL was dying, it was lucrative.
I seriously loved CL. It helped me get through law school. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been discussing the Lakers with you guys for more than 10 years! I still remember the threads when we got Pau and then the monster Artest thread. Good times indeed!!!
It's the best Laker forum. It may not be the biggest or the most popular, but as the old saying goes, quality over quantity. There's less redundant thread topics. The forum software is actually from the 2010's, not the 1990's. Other than a few special members, posters don't tend to bring up the same topic over and over again.
very user friendly. by far the most mature and intelligent lakers/nba talk around. so many smart people who articulate things that i didnt even knew i thought until reading it. also a ton of funny people. its such a great mix. i sometimes cringe when i see the occasional good poster on another lakers forum and have to resist creating an account just to tell them about the great site theyre missing. i have all the typical social media apps/sites but i come here more than any by far. dont any of you change!
Everything that's been said above... + A credible and trustworthy source for anything Lakers (and NBA alike), and + I can discuss non-Lakers and non-NBA stuff (pretty much life stuff) with others.
I'm here mostly because you guys don't judge me for being me. @Weezy Not all of the emojis can be hosted, so I have the rest on the other site. Here's a few shrugs, but if @Barnstable wants a particular look, I could tweak one of these to fit the right size pretty easily. I love this place, and have had the chance to meet several of you guys from CA, TX, OK, and the Philippines. I feel like I could easily meet many of you and easily be lifelong friends. We don't always know the stuff all of us are going through, but I can tell you this is a place of peace, enjoyment, and entertainment for me, and has picked me up on some dark days. For that I thank you, and it's been a privilege to be a contributor on this site and to hopefully help make it as enjoyable for others as it has been for me. There is a unique vibe we have here, and it's a true community. Many of us have been here long enough, that we're more than that. We're family. And that's where the word FAM came from. You guys help me learn and understand the game of basketball at a deeper level compared to other platforms. Great minds and debaters here, for sure.
Damn well said, I joined CL in summer ‘06, so I’ve known a large number of you for 10-12 years, and some of you were on CL as far back as ‘03/‘04 too, that’s crazy. Also, I know you showed me that Kobe one already, and it’s perfect, my memory is going I swear, and at only 34.
Why am I here? Because of you @Barnstable for creating the a great, great forum. And the great people in this Lakers community @everybody...
