Some English shows which are great if you can get them: Line of Duty (Anti Corruption Police show) Murder: A trial in the family (This is a mix of fact and fiction as they put a fictional murder case in front of a real court, jury etc.)
Finished the newest season of House of Cards. Didn't enjoy it as much as the first one or two seasons. Can't really connect to any characters and I just kept watching because I've watched the rest of it already.
Unless they announce that next season is going to be the final one, I might not even watch. This one was really disappointing. Retreading a lot of similar ground, every character just gets more and more unlikeable, and the plot lost any sense of political intrigue. Just boring drama between characters I don't care about.
To be honest, besides Francis, Claire and Doug, I would struggle to put names to faces for the other characters.
Not much into political drama shows but Designated Survivor kinda hooked me. But it's not just political drama, it's a whodunit, bit of action, thriller. Halfway through in about 3 days so far. Kiefer's good and gets better as the season goes on but very impressed with Kal Penn in his role as press secretary. All in all a very good show. All eps on Hulu.
Same. Put a gun to my head and I couldn't name Neve Campbell's character, the PR guy's name...I guess I could name Conway just because they repeated his name sooooo many times. But I couldn't tell you his first name. I want to say Charlie, but that's Joshua Jackson in the Mighty Ducks.
I started watching The Mist on Spike TV. It's an adaptation from the Steven King novel and movie. So far it's good enough for me to keep watching, but nothing spectacular through episode 3. Still I think it's one of those shows that could take off once the writers start to get a feel for the setting and characters.
Just started Peaky Blinders, great show about a gangs rise in Birmingham just after the war with Cylian Murphy, Tom Hardy is also in Season 2.
The Defiant Ones History of Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine, leading up to their billion dollar deal with Apple. If you have HBO I highly recommend this 4 part series. Parts 3 and 4 haven't been shown yet, buy you can watch on Demand if you have it. IMO, this is a better NWA history lesson than Straight Outta Compton. 4 out of 4 stars!
Last Chance U: Season 2 on Netflix just was added today. Can't wait to watch it all this weekend! Finished all of Season 1 in one night went it first came out. Brittany Wagner does so much for those kids and school.
Currently watching Love on Netflix. If you're a fan of Judd Apatow movies you'll probably like this series, he produced it. Like his movies a lot of comedians show up it throughout (like one of Chris Rock's brothers I wasn't familiar with who is great), and even one of his daughters is in it and she's really good. The 2 main leads are really good though, and it's far from the conventional romantic comedy show, it's very much like an Apatow movie, tons of swearing, the people are real people and not perfect, and it's clever/funny. There's 2 seasons now, believe the 3rd one is being made now.
Just finished season 1 of Ozark. Definitely check it out. Steady throughout the season. Can't wait for season 2.
I would hang that on the wall in my Man Cave and dare my wife to take it down. "Go ahead honey. You remove this, you will never smell patchouli in this mother f---ing crib again!"
From the producers of Making a Murder, a new Netflix series about the murder of a nun and the cover-up in the Catholic church. The Keepers.
