    Gonna listen to the new Weeknd album that leaked a few days ago soon, but I'm not as excited about it as I was originally. Apparently he went completely in the Pop direction instead of the darker R&B instrumentals he used to have. Really looking forward to the new Mac Miller album in a few weeks though. Apparently the Jay Rock album is ready too, but TDE's CEO is being stupid and won't release it until it gets enough preorders.

    Weeknd album was subpar.

    The Game has a new album that should leak this week. Dr Dre called it the best album of the past 5 years. High praise.

    Not sure what I think of the new Weeknd. Moments where the poppy change in direction makes sense and he comments about how empty his past life of drugs and womanizing was. But then there are other tracks where his lyrics are the same glamorizing drugs/women theme, but just dressed up in boring poppy instrumentals and song structure.

    Overall though, I'm a fan of his and there are enough songs on here that I enjoy. Some of the songs were almost "boring", where I just zoned out during my first listen. But again, I'm a fan. Most of the time I listen to, it's as background stuff while I work anyways, so some of this album might be even more well suited for that.

    Completely different ends of the current hip hop spectrum, but this was an awesome weekend for music. Lupe convinced me again that he might be the best technical rapper in the game right now when he's not constrained by his label. And then I've been hearing hype for Travi$ Scott for the longest time. He's a modern "mainstream turn-up" rapper, but his newest album had some interesting moments but aside from that was simply very entertaining.
