Ehhh.... The Real Friends is below average, but great when compared to his last couple of albums. Dude can't rhyme. I'm more interested in the full song with K. Dot.

I loved Real Friends mostly because I love nearly every Madlib beat I hear.

I love those guys. I almost went and saw them live a couple years ago. I kind of still want to.

Kanye's new albums is one of the most enjoyable and empowering albums I've ever listened to and I don't care that you guys hate Kanye. I'm so happy that I'm a fan of his and his release of this album has been masterfully crafted.

I'm glad you like it. I like 2 or 3 songs. I hate him the person, but as a producer, I think he's great. I think every album after BDTF were either trash or pale in comparison to his classics. But I won't say his great work is trash just because I hate him, but this album is a 1 1/2 out of 10 to me. But again, glad you like it.

I totally understand and respect that. I see how some of the elements I like (or just don't mind as much) about his newer works might directly turn a lot of people off of these albums. Like there are some lines on here that I kinda just chuckle and dismiss as a personal fan of Kanye's, but I understand that if you don't like him personally or vibe with his message, some of those lines are so abrasive that they alone could feasibly ruin someone's enjoyment of the album. (Yes, I would love it if someone can get me an edit of Famous that does not mention bleached a**holes :D).

But seeing as how you're describing some of his older stuff as classics, I'm genuinely curious about how you feel about some other aspects of this album? Because in my opinion, the production on here is beautiful. Does a great job at combining some elements from his older albums with some of the new Yeezus "trap" influence. And the "I Love Kanye" freestyle was just very poignant and self-aware in my opinion. If you liked him at some point of his career, I'm kinda surprised if you can listen to "I Love Kanye" and not respect some part of his musical progression. Even if you hate it because sonically that progression took him into a musical landscape that just didn't resonate with you, I don't get hating him as a person. As he says on FML, he's revealing the layers of his soul and he does a great job at it. If that's not art, I don't know what is.

But overall, thanks for not dismissing my appreciation of the album just because you personally have a strong dislike for it. That's what discussion is all about.

I hear people say Yeezy is classic, much like people say that about Pimp a Butterfly and I'm willing to suggest maybe I just don't get it. But to me, they're not enjoyable to listen to.

While listening to Life of Pablo, I was typing notes for work while listening and not looking at song titles. Twice I stopped what I was doing to look at the song name because I liked it. Both times it was No Party in LA with K Dot. The Taylor Swift reference, bleached a holes, and him being on Zoloft (or maybe another anti depressant) caught my ear. Not much else. I also caught "all geniuses are crazy." What he's missing is that they don't know they're crazy, but he's trying to pass off his numerous... NUMEROUS acts of being a jerk as him being a misunderstood genius.

I gave it 2 listens, but admit I was also working. I tried to go back and give it another listen last night and within 5 minutes I was listening to Graduate and Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. You know, those are really great albums. Timeless. Classics. Does he have that in him anymore? I think he does. But he's caught up in trying to give us art, but instead of a Mona Lisa, he's giving us that painting of a potato that sold for millions.

I hate to say this because of my undying love for his early work, but I think the Ice Cube diss to Dre is fitting, "hey yo Dre, stick to producing." He's kinda like Jay Z rapping about Tom Ford instead of selling crack. I know they've moved on, evolved, and that's not their life anymore, but the stuff now is..... I just don't get it.

P.S. FML is pretty good. Like Eminem on various tracks, I recognize the risk of singing the chorus and hooks, when they obviously know they can't sing, but want to convey the risk / vulnerability.

I'm really disappointed with Kanye's last two albums. I really loved BDTF and expected them to be on the same level. I like "FML" though, about the only track that I have on repeat.

Even though I don't think much of this Pablo album, it's a MILLION times better than Yeezus, which is probably the worst album in history. Everyone. Ever. The absolute worst.
