Kenny Atkinson is a good option.

I just hope we focus on making the right basketball hire instead of just looking for a name.

Exactly. Seems that our free agency approach and coaching search both involve the 'name.'

Just find the right guy. So sick of recycling coaches.

Yeah. I'd prefer we avoid retreads.

As I said in the last page from the article. This guy would be my top choice from that list. The energy is there, the player-coach attitude is there, and if he had some real good assistants around him he would turn out real well if able to grow with a team and an organization.

I've said it before but whoever we hire we need a modern coach. Not this old school man up - just work harder, outdated way of thinking with no modern scientific basketball principles. We need a smart coach who understands both sides of the modern nba game. Guys I think of are Spoesltra( who I think is really under-rated), Brad Stevens, guys like that.

Luke, Ollie, Atkinson are all good names and a nice change from the recycled has-beens this team has been hiring ever since phil left

even a guy like ed pinckney from denver would be someone i'd like to see take over for the current moron we have "coaching" this team

As Morey made clear, Bickerstaff will have a legitimate chance to make his mark here. But if the losing continues, Morey's history of being aggressive is almost certain to continue and it remains possible that the Rockets could make another change. To that end, one interesting name is Scott Brooks.

The former Oklahoma City Thunder coach not only has a positive history with Harden, but a storied history with the Rockets from his playing days (he was the backup point guard on their 1994 championship team). But according to a person with knowledge of Brooks’ situation, it’s more likely that he will wait until the summer to see what’s next on the job front. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of Brooks’ situation.

The Lakers job, in particular, is worth watching between now and then in relation to Brooks. With head coach Byron Scott in his second season and the Lakers struggling early (they’re 2-9), it remains to be seen how they see his future in Los Angeles. Brooks, who lives in Southern California and played his college basketball at UC Irvine, would make for an intriguing Lakers possibility.

I really understand the desperation in trying to find a coach, and yes Scott needs to go...Now! But I'm not sure on going in on hiring one of these new wave assistants. This team needs a teacher for a couple years, Hell , a Hubie Brown, Larry Brown, guys that know the league and everything on both sides of the court.Another bad, unsuccessful long term hire would add to the franchise's embarrassment.

We need a new hungry coach that is going to grow with our team... Not another old school has been... Have you not seen what has happened to us that past 3-4 years?
