Well they might recruit ordinary FAs but not the two most important "ones" if you catch my drift

Hell no to a college coach ... The NBA is basically a new sports for them and they are clueless about rotations/lineups , when to foul ect ( except for Stevens)

I don't think I would mind Shaw on our bench either.

Kevin Ollie was an NBA player for 13 seasons before he became a "college coach".

I think I would be okay with either Messina or Luke at this point honestly. Each has their selling points (Messina - experience, Luke - youth/potential). There are misgivings I have for both hires too, but I think after Byron there is no way to go but up.

i think all 3 main candidates would be able to attract FA's

they all seem like "players coaches" unlike byron who was an abrasive, old school jerk

LT you know I love your commentary but I think you're making a huge generalization. Like someone said, Messina has the hardware to back it up. We knew Byron's history was subpar regardless of what he said. Messina has the history and the game plan. I have to ask, did you read the write up in its entirety? It really is nothing that Byron was doing.

That being said I would love for you to find evidence of Byron saying ball reversals and off-ball movement and transition O were key components of his offensive philosophy. He talked about his system being a hybrid of the Princeton and Triangle and that's about it. What we saw on the court was the opposite. Set plays. Stagnation. Isolation plays. A few pick and rolls. Limited transition O.
