bit of a bummer in that it reads like a guy looking for a bigger role and payday, which we can't offer.
Yeah. Money will probably trump here if more than we can spend, but on our side he was basically gushing with love for the opportunity with this great franchise and for Ham especially in one of those recent vid clips here last page or next.
Well he's done the opposite of Lonnie - tried to focus on what the market desires (catch and shoot 3's plus defense). It's going to work out for him if he keeps excelling in that role. The Washington role is what a lot of young players desire and get trained to do as they were stars at lower levels but he's correct is that he's not talented enough to make it that route
Just one of those nights, it happens to the best of them. Troy to me has played well enough to get into the 8 man rotation at SF in front of Rui. I’d like to see if we could hold onto him, but if we do it probably means losing Schroeder. In hindsight, would of been nice to sign either of these guys to the mMLE this season as we could give them a small raise for next season and likely keep them both.
the fanbase was angry about signing schroder and lukewarm at best about brown at vet mins. i can only imagine...
I can only speak for myself, I liked the Schroeder signing - he had a great summer at the euros. I wasn’t really that excited about Troy Brown initially but as a minimum you can’t complain. I was disappointed with the Lonnie signing and was hoping for a SF.
yes i remember. my point is that neither guy was going to get the tax mle at the time, and rob would have been dragged over the coals for it like he was for lonnie, which was still one of the better tax mle signings, league-wide (i'd say divincenzo and brown were superior, though neither are sfs). as i said above, i'm guessing we lose one or both to FA, but i feel like with the exception of two years ago, we've done pretty well around the margins with signings and can expect to unearth at least one useful player with our exceptions and minimums. good news this year we should only need to find one instead of 5.
brown's making himself some monk money. here's hoping we keep the streak alive and get another vet min reclamation/rehab signing next year.
He’s young and plays the most sought after position in the league. What a waste but totally out of our control.
42% from 3 after the ASG One interesting thing to keep in mind for the playoffs and his PT Shooting splits for the season : At home : 40.6/36.8 On the road 45.7/39.6
Nights like tonight, 17 minutes is too many. He tried to compete on the glass and got a few, so that was helpful. His D wasn't bad, but their wings couldn't hit tonight anyway. Only 1-4 shooting. That open 3, wish he would've swung it left to Rui based on the groove Rui was in. Personally if he's playing like this, I drop him another 5 minutes (to 12 minutes) and split those handful of minutes between Rui and AR.
This guy sucks. Why does he get so much burn? I certainly don’t know. He was in g3 tonight wayyy too long.
He showed the ability to eat up minutes in the regular season: he's not a playoff caliber rotation player but has value. Wonder what he'll get in the market. He's a good player for the minimum for sure.
guessing someone will throw BAE or portion of mle at him on a short deal. i wonder if we'll offer to re-up on the 120% raise on the vet min. we might not, actually, because consecutive vet mins can result in trade veto power, iirc.
