Big game from Troy, he was going after boards, hitting shots, playing locked in defense, we absolutely needed it.
Folks keep forgetting that he's 23 years old, and is getting the first extensive playing time of his career, in a pressure cooker environment to boot, playing for the Lakers. Great pickup Edit..he actually played similar minutes his 2nd year in the League with the Wizards. Similar production. They weren't any good though, definitely a lot more pressure in the spotlight here.
Dude has really stepped up when we needed him to. Originally I wanted Rui to get all of Lebron's mins but looks like Ham is giving Troy the opportunity... and he's been providing.
Give it a day and if he happens to have a sub par game there’s a contingent here that will go all Unimpressed Squirrel on him.
yeah, he was getting torched like three days ago here, i think lol. lonnie went from "worst signing ever", to "great signing--why didn't you sign him longer?", to "worst player ever" in a period of 3 months.
Happens with good roleplayers: I think the key for the Lakers post-trade that they have guys who in general will have more or in cases like Reaves a lot more good games then bad games. There is a reason they are roleplayers and also good not bad ones (most of last year's roster - jesus between Anthony, Bradley, Ariza, Ellington you were lucky to get a good game once a week between all of them)
And he’s only going to get better with a full summer with Handy. Wings are in DEMAND in the league. TBJ has amazing chemistry with other players including the new trio. Let’s keep him if it isn’t too expensive?
Let’s keep him even if he’s expensive. It’s not like a replacement is waiting in the wings. I like Rui, but he has to turn it around big time for me to be okay with letting Troy go because we wouldn’t pay up.
I can’t be the only person watching Troy play to see it’s clear he works on his skills and has enough confidence in them now to not fear being more aggressive offensively getting to the hoop or whatever else occasionally in addition to just 3s plus his best efforts on D and rest of his game. Handy probably has a very good pupil there. That quick release of his and those high arcing bombs are a thing of wonder and beauty sometimes. Just saying he has a higher ceiling in his own head about how else he can score the ball. Just has to be conservative and do what the coaching staff wants from him … very well first priority. They seem more than happy with with his efforts as evidenced by his team high 41 minutes against the elite perimeter fire power of the Warriors.
