Hmm.... I like Mozgov and Deng. I liked them when we signed them and I still like them now. Actually I like the entire roster :D

Doesn't matter if we agree. Results are the results.

But why are we getting these results? I think Moz is less to blame than a few other players.

I'm thinking of launching a protest. Why haven't Calderon and Huertas been playing.

It doesn't matter how I came about broke today! All that matters is I'm broke. It doesn't matter that I was a) robbed, b) gambled, or c) spent my money on drugs and hookers until I had no more money left.

The Lakers FO probably thought the signings of Deng and Mozgov would allow the team to play around 0.50 ball ( with a new coach and the young players improving) ... and attract better players in the 2017 Summer .

Some optimistic posters here thought too .

We all agreed here we were tired of one year rentals and tanking and it was time to sign some decent players to try improving the team .

As of now the Deng and Moz look bad ( especially the later) and the 4-5 additional wins they will bring in the season may be the ones which make us lose our 2017 and 2019 picks ....

Hey, rampant debauchery worked great for the '80's era Lakers.

What we are seeing is a team breakdown after the injury bug hit. Team was playing well and most were thinking Moz was a good signing after all. When things start going a little bad he is easy to pile on. There just isn't the same energy on defense. Luke will piece it back together. Big part of the Laker puzzle going forward is Nance. Not just a high energy guy but a skilled high IQ player. May not look like it but Luke is developing some soon to be very good young players (Ingram) for example.

For what is worth I try to stay only with this year and not let the past few seasons figure in and frustrate me. Just look at what Luke is doing and forget the other guy. Luke's body of work is very promising.

Huh? Yes I don't like moz but that was a serious question as that was Moz highlight last yr in clev, getting blocked by the rim. I see you still continue to use the "walton wanted" him argument. I think at this pt that argument is no longer valid reason to justify liking deng or mozgov, more so the latter as we can see now luke continues to play him sparingly. Per Moz, he stated luke promised him a BIG role on this team at this pt, thats bs, he signed here cause we offered the most $ for a guy in his 30s who hasnt particulary been all that good in career. I already offered statistival evidence for not liking Moz but all get the "context" counter argument so ill let it be but we see our d is as bad if not worse than last yr

I was having a bad 24 hours with you harping on him constantly (yes we do get it you don't like him), another of our group calling him a "big white stiff" and OX with the adjectives similar as well as Moz being "s***" that we paid for. In other words absolutely useless. So I got my panties in a bunch admittedly for awhile because I trust my eyes and he's not complete s***, a stiff or useless. Useless doesn't compute when the weaknesses and strengths shown this year stack up like this:

    Cons:
Doesn't jump off the ground often / as much as he should, and has shown he can.
For a 7 footer not a good rebounder
For a 7 footer not a good rim protector
Not great, as most 7 footers his size aren't at hedging the P&R

    Pros:
Runs the floor well .... check. Can shoot the mid range very well ... check. Hits his free throws ....check. Sets great picks ... check. Rolls well to the basket and most of the time finishes well (yeah just like everyone else flubs those some times) .... check. Is there to body up and wrestle pretty evenly with the likes of Boogie Cousins and other big centers when needed and at more minutes those games .... check. Has good touch with both hands down low for the most part .... check. Not a bad passer .... check. Way more dimensional than Biyumbo for what Walton wants out of him .... check."

Adding ..... Smart player and "great" teammate ....check.

And then asked any of you guys who was that FA big man stud that we had any chance of landing, that would have been better for what Luke the coach wanted to do with the team?? And it was his choice. The Pros do outweigh the Cons.

I dont agree with your assement that pros out weigh the cons....he simply has not and will not perform per his contract. Only thing i agree is this was probably the best mgmt could do for what luke apparently wanted but as a fan i would prefer someone like Biyombo, a few million more but at least he wouldve given us rim protection and possibly alleviate our poor perimiter defense. You can mask poor perimiter d if you have a decent/solid guy in the paint, from what i see nobody is afraid to enter the paint against this team and stats shows this.....
2 cons that outweigh most of your pros
    1. Age
    2. Potential
Moz will not grow with the team nor will he improve as a player....you need these factors when considering the makeup of our core at the present.

He was never going to perform his contract. I knew that. However, I was hoping for something but usually when I hope I have to go to the mirror and slap myself in the face when things go to s***. Should have just kept Hibbert at this point. Would have saved years and money and waited until 2017 off season and see who else would be available. Look at tonight against the Heat. Whiteside was out, Heat had no one. He missed his gamely dunk and was a complete bumbling, stumbling waste of a basketball player.

Sorry LT. Your boy is garbage. No insult to you but I cant sit here and rationalize this s***. The guy blows. I have watched and played basketball almost all of my life. I know the game and I know talent. And that guy is the Russian Jon Koncak. Overpaid and useless to winning basketball unless he is the 12th man on a roster like he was last year on the Cavs title team.
