Mozz has been just what I expected. A really solid starting center all the way around.

And defensively he would look a lot better next to a better defensive PF. Right now, Mozz is usually making the right call on a switch, but other players aren't always rotating to his man.

Right now, Moz really needs to starting focusing on rebounding. It's not his job to box out the other players on the court, but he should be active enough to keep opposing guards from grabbing offensive boards.

His rebounding numbers are definitely too low for someone that size. And ability. And price tag.

Moz is playing very well and has multiple skills. Great rebounder, no, but not bad. Certainly playing better than the knee jerk proclamations of suckitude when we got him. In fact he is a great fit for what Luke wants with this team. Why Luke convinced the FO to get him before someone else assuredly would have. So "trending down" .... No. Actually trending back up to where he was just 18 months ago after being hurt most of last year.

You are correct that he's never been a great rebounder. Doesn't mean I wouldn't always be disappointed in that though. I expect big men to rebound, box out, block, defend, and score in the post. When they don't do that, "Son, I am disappoint"

He's our second most efficient rebounder - behind Black who has played limited minutes. I'd be more down on Randle's rebounding than his.

Yes ... and directly equating Moz's performance to it.

[IMG] You sir, need to take your facts and put them somewheres else. I'm talking about dude needs to rebound like he wants to win the rebounding title. That he's fighting for every loose ball. That he owns the paint with a scowl. I'm not comparing him to other youngins or stiffs on our roster like Zubac. (Baiting LT)

No, its meant to say Moz is what he is, expecting more doesnt make it so...given his age and nba progression, why would anyone expect much more from Moz at this point? as saying goes "leopard cant change its spot"

Well that's not what you said and I just took you at what you wrote. No big deal. You implied directly Moz, like Hibbert last year, is "trending down" in his performance this year.

For those questioning his rebounding numbers you have to notice a few trends these first 3 games. One of the big ones that jumps out and that when hes in the game he's usually coming over on the weak side to contest drives to the basket which he had done quite well so far, but that usually causes a miss and we're not helping the helper on the boards. Plus, even though he starts he usually hasn't been playing starters minutes and finishing games.

Yes, his rebounding numbers need to get a little better, but with what he does for us and the minutes he plays I don't really expect 10 rebounds a game, at least from the trends in these first 3 games.
