Season 1 didn't even hook me. The acting was poor, the the plot was so erratic. As for who get's killed, I think the person that makes most sense is Michonne. After they dangled Glenn's "death" last year just to kill him off like that would made all of that suspense from last season, pointless. Maggie with her baby would be insanely brutal. No one would care for Abraham, Eugene, Sasha, or Rosita. Michonne would sting a bit, because of the relationship that started with Rick and her badass character, but it would make for an interesting take for Rick's mentality as it seeps deeper and deeper.
That was the most f***ed up episode of the Walking Dead they've ever made. The intensity and drama was unreal! I felt every moment of their pain. Good lord that was good!
Ugh, part of me feels like this is Stockholm syndrome where I'm a hostage to this show and gonna delude myself into tolerating the kind of abuse that last season's finale put me through. But damn it, they were right. They kept on saying they didn't wanna show the death at the end of last season because Negan's kill(s) kind of mark the beginning of a new storyline. And now it makes sense because of how well this episode was executed. Had they shown the deaths at the end of last season, we would've had all year to dwell on it and we wouldn't feel the impact as much now. So at this point, we'd probably be expecting some vengeance from Rick's group. But organizing it this way, we really feel how broken down Rick and the group is. Like we had all year to forget how effective the Ricktatorship in Alexandria became, and now all we feel is how hopeless they are against Negan. Rick and the group kinda felt like underdogs against the Governor and Woodbury, but this is a whole other level.
That might have been the most intense episode, an emotional roller coaster throughout. I can honestly say that at one point I felt Rick being broken down. I saw the first one coming but was not prepared for that second one, the eye was just so gruesome, it was amazing. Agreed with Helljumper. Last season I was with the many who hated how they cliffhanger-ed Negan's victim. Thought it was stupid and left me pretty annoyed with the show but man was I wrong. It completely makes sense now what they were doing. We are going to be holding what happened this episode throughout the entire season.
OK... im a Negan fan. I hope his relationship with Carl, makes the kid a major, brutal badass (just like in the comics).
Brutal. Glen was reduced to a crime scene. I am thinking that Maggie may be the one who finally gets retribution. Rick held none of the cards, and came pretty close to breaking. This may show him that he can't keep hardening his heart, and once free may hopefully be able to distance himself from some of the brutality. Carl is truly his father's son, and I think some of that inner strength will shine through (though the actor comes off petulant and annoying rather than having intestinal fortitude and dare I say grit). The opening was visceral and not a traumatic experience. I think the emotion was well balanced with the dream sequence of Rick and the group having dinner with those deceased members and a candle being extinguished at the table was really poignant. Looking forward to this season. Never saw fear the walking dead, I understand I may not have missed much.
If rick had killed negan in the rv does his group get immediately executed or is it possible the saviors accept him as the new leader?
The fact that this question is even being asked worries me. Because I can see the writers being lazy and just doing something like that. They build up this epic villain but now he's too powerful to find a creative way to take down ... so in the season finale they just have Negan get too cocky and get his guard down. Rick kills him and everyone lives happily ever after until a new bad guy shows up in the next season.
Nope. I know fans like the Negan arc though, so I'm sure there is enough good source material to prevent the writers from screwing it up too badly. I'm just always skeptical of the writing on this show. It's a love hate relationship lol
