I liked all that stuff! I just hated the cliffhanger. It's a disservice to the fans. I loved the tension build up and the stuff leading up to that. The Carol story I think was just a way to introduce The Kingdom.
Everything about the episode was pretty perfect until that cliffhanger ending. You put what people expected at the end and you probably have the best episode of The Walking Dead yet...something that would make a buzz that even non-watchers would hear. Though to be fair they probably accomplished the latter, but negatively.
Say what you will about the CW DC shows but they did a death the way TWD should have. The death on Arrow was teased all season long, similar to TWD and last night's episode they finally showed the death. There were twists and turns during the process, a couple fake outs but they showed it and the death was of a 2nd tier character. Arrow is off for a couple weeks and people who watch it will be discuss the outcome of that death for those weeks.
Ok. I've watched a few minutes of Arrow and Flash and thought they were so ridiculously cheesy and bad.
I've heard Arrow started really well but has fallen off the deep in end in terms of quality. A lot of people like The Flash though.
The cliffhanger really irritated the hell out of me but that's how the comics work also. The finale was still great to me. But if they actually followed through and showed who was killed. It would of been all time best finale
Pretty much this. I stopped watching Arrow, just can't sit through it. The Flash has gotten better and better though to me..
I love the Flash, and yes, it is cheesy Arrow I can take or leave. Too WB, beautiful teen, drama about nothing, Dawson's Creek to me
The cliffhanger really took away from Negan's intro. You don't get that immediate shock of the "Oh hey, I'm just gonna kill you right here and now." Instead, you get a drawn out "who is it?" and "Negan's just another bad guy". The director even said himself that the cliffhanger was meant to keep fans coming back. As if they needed to? An immediate cliffhanger AFTER the kill would've been epic much ado to GoT and Jon Snow. Poor choice.
Yeah the cliff hanger IS them being stuck there with their dead friend. The cliff hanger isn't "who died" it's "how the f*** are they going to get away/kill Negan"? great point.
I don't think we have a separate thread for it, so I'll just talk about it here Fear The Walking Dead season 2 just went up yesterday, and while I will continue to watch.... it's tough. The writing is just so terrible compared to The Walking Dead. Spoilers: The girl telling the guy on the CB their location and information about them was stupid, but not totally out of character for a teenage girl to do unwittingly. But there's just too many unlikable characters in this show and they keep doing stupid s***. Going for a swim and keep on swimming when you see all the dead in the water, yeah that's safe SMH. The only ones I like is the crack head kid, and the black dude (and he's starting to rub me the wrong way). The rest of them I could care less about after a full season of character development. FTWD is like bizzaro TWD
^ I'm with you about the girl on the CB. Irritating, but not out of this realm for a teenage girl. What really bothered me is that Strand didn't take the radio away from her after he got so angry that she was talking to someone. I actually really like the concept about them at sea, but I'm worried it's just going to be one avoidable catastrophe after another.
Eh. My hope is that it gets better, but they had a whole season to figure out he characters. But I am with @wallangong on being at sea. They did the smart thing getting the hell off the land, and it's what I'd want to do if/when a zombie apocalypse breaks out. It gives me a little hope that the writers aren't totally clueless.
After being bored with it every week for season 1, I might just wait for a couple weeks and marathon it. Might like it better that way.
Yeah I'm thinking alam might be on to something. Thanks for the response though. If you'd said just skip it, I probably would have done that.
its pretty bad when, after 1 episode, you dont mind watching them all die...especially the girl on the radio...or the emo son thank god Game Of Thrones is around the corner
I really do hope it gets better as well. I think the main issue with me is I don't like any of the characters. I dont mind it being slow but I have no connection to any of the characters. They're just not likable.
Yeah, I think I give up on Fear The Walking Dead. It's just not good, and it's only getting worse. I still don't give a damn about any of the characters. That's a bad sign that after 2 seasons of "giving it a try" I still don't care about any of these people.
