Bolded is not exactly true. If you remember, the cliff gave way and the big rig collapsed and left an open for the Walkers while they were "rehearsing". That's why they had to do it live lol.
Yep, what he said ^ When we saw them it was suppose to just be a run through of the plan, sort of a rehearsal before they head back and keep prepping. But one of the four 18 wheelers fell of the cliff and opened up the pathway so Rick and company went ahead with the plan.
No doubt they could have come up with a better plan than parade them by the town. BUT, the deal is they have to do something, it's a time based desperation issue, and as you point out, Rick is losing it. On top of all that, in TWD the plan was to redirect the Walker herd AWAY from people. The intent of the plan was to save people. In FTWD they released a well contained Walker herd and intentionally led them to the people to use them as an army against the freaking US Army. It was the same kind of plan the Governor used against the Prison. It was pure evil. NONE of the characters in FTWD that willingly participated in this murderous plan were portrayed as evil all season long. Even the barber only tortured the arm of the soldier and was not evil enough to actually kill him outright. Now, suddenly all these characters flip a switch and easily become mass murderers and none of them even flinch in releasing the Walker herd not just on the army but on any other survivors that might still be out there. It's just bad bad writing and show running.
What a crazy episode and it went by so fast. My heart was racing by the end of it. Awesome stuff. Really pissed Morgan let those Wolves get away WITH A GUN. That's gonna get someone important killed, 100% guaranteed. Carol is a friggin zombie apocalypse hitman.
I'm confused a little bit on how dude with the stick got there so fast, but the rest of the group wasn't there. He was out with the other group when this attack happened right? Hm. I loved Carol's deal though and I thought besides the plot hole, the direction was fantastic. There were so many pieces juxtapositioned against each other. Carol/stick guy, Karl/Ben, Eugene/Doctor woman, Maggie/leader woman. Terrific.
I think last episode when the horn sounded and all the walkers headed back to the town, Rick sent Morgan back first, while the rest of the group stayed back to try to redirect the walkers back to the road. question: what was the significance of the dude looking at the Alexandria photos from the dad guy? Were the wolves spying on their plans or something?
If I recall, that dude lost his bag and then found his bag on one of the Wolves. I think it's supposed to signify that he feels responsible for them knowing about Alexandria which is supposed to continue to further prove how unprepared these people are for life outside the walls. It's a pretty cool thing they've built up here in terms of storytelling. We tend to sympathize with Rick's opinions in this town, but they still provide a means for showing exactly how far our group has come. We hated Shane at first (for good reason) but dammit if we're not right where he was at the time. Now introducing stick guy (Morgan?) gives us yet another representation of exactly how far our group has descended. It's crazy.
Last episode Rick sent Morgan (stick guy) back to let them know that what his face died, the guy that had his cheek bit off, the one that was against Rick. That's why he's there before anyone else. Really good episode, so much going on and glad to see Carol back in her badassery. I honestly thought that she was seeing things when she saw that smoking chick get hacked. Like her mind was going crazy from having to act like a normal house wife. And then now they have the super herd to deal with..... Hopefully non stop action for the next couple episodes. Spoiler Did anyone catch what that chick with Carl was saying? Sounded to me like she's connected to the wolves.
I don't think so, but maybe? I think in a lot of ways she's her own person. Spoiler: JSS Stands for: Just Survive Somehow and I think that's her only motivation right now. She isn't driven by anything else but making sure she survives I think.
I'll rewatch it tonight but Spoiler when they were sitting back to back. She said something like "this place is too big to protect, that's how we.." And got cut off by Carl.
I assumed that meant she was saying "we" as in "we the people of Alexandria" got overrun but maybe you're right.
The difference in Shane then and Rick now is that Shane was willing to sacrifice an innocent person to insure his own survival. I don't think the group as a whole is where Shane was. Carol is maybe the closest with her willingness to let the church guy die, but in her perspective he deserved it for his earlier transgressions.
Whoa, not at all how I was expecting that episode to play it. Didn't think we'd find out who caused the horn tI'll the final 5 minutes. Based on what the show has taught us, I figured they'd spend the whole episode catching up with those back at the subdivision and tease the events, then s*** would hit the fan next week with everyone in the episode. That was intense. Carol is a force to be reckoned with. I wonder how the remaining Susie homemakers will act around Carol now and how her cover being blown will play out. Morgan is such a reluctant badass. There's going to be a lot of internal head butting conflict this year, as long as the action stays strong, should be a damn good season.
Yeah I agree that she is not part of the Wolves. They would have hinted at it in her back story. Plus the actress playing that role said on Talking Dead that she was only alone after her parents were killed and before Alexandria for 2-3 weeks.
