The real problem of this team

    Even though we don't have the defensive talent that our champsionship teams had, you still need a system. Gasol was not known for his defense before he was traded here, but since we had an actual system, which from the big man standpoint meant overloading the strong side with length and showing hard on P&R, you can get someone who maybe doesn't have good defensive instincts to buy in, and have confidence that there is a system they can follow and make them effective. You saw the brilliance of that in both of our finals wins when Gasol was very effective defensively. Of course he put in the effort, but if there's no system, effort would simply be running in place. You don't get anywhere.

    This is where we are at right now. There's nothing at all that any of our players can buy into. Nothing. We obvioulsy won't be a top defensive team but to be dead last is inexcusable.
