Broke her arm. As they say, "tap, snap or nap." She chose snap. Tate can fight, but like everyone else, she's no match for Ronda. No one else out there in her weight class. Just too strong. That's why I, and every other UFC fan, says she has to fight Cyborg. They can meet at 140, but I don't think Ronda will do that.
X2 T,but she is the only opponent to make it out the first round. In their second fight Tate made it all the way to the third... As for Cyborg its time to put up or shut up. Either sign on the dotted line and make weight or go away.
Was not able to see the fight with the link. But did see this photo, 1st in a series elsewhere on Yahoo, not below "1st", and probably the best ...... that I am guessing was the high point of the "match" (mismatch actually) for "run-her-mouth Beth" ? This moment before the fight actually started? Would scare the crap out of many, but obviously not Rowdy Ronda!! More on the fight, "Don't cry" turned around on the vanquished, and more photos: http://mmajunkie.com/2015/08/ronda-rousey-told-bethe-correia-dont-cry-after-ufc-190-knockout-victory
I never really got into Ronda; probably never will. In or around the time the UFC bought Pride is when I got into the sport or shortly before then; that said, Liddell made for a lot of good nights...GSP is probably my favorite fighter; in his younger days before the knee injuries and when he took a little more risk. Nevertheless, when his fights became 'dull' to the average fan when he incorporated his wrestling to keep the fight on the ground, I always remained a fan. Nowadays, I do like Aldo and Jones. Velasquez who I hear is fighting Werdum again. These guys keep my attention. Other than that, I do try to keep involved but it's not like it was once to me; I don't get the same excitement that I used too. Jones/Cormier brought it out a little when they had their feud and their eventual fight. I want to get excited again, though. I'm happy for Rousey , and I wish her continued success. I hope she can find some actual competition in division that she's making a mockery out of...
What impresses me most about Rousey isn't her fighting, it's the fact that she is literally creating something her on a grand scale that just doesn't exist elsewhere. She doesn't have much competition but that's not her fault. She's just incredibly unique in what she's doing and her abilities are amplified by that. Very cool. She's creating a generation of female fighters. Other than that let's get the Aldo vs MacGregor fight going, eh?
Unlike ROFY above I have gotten into Ronda. Errrrrr......what I mean is surprisingly, for a "best of the best" Boxing fan forever, yet finding UFC and MMA with the men too raw and bloody for my taste....... I am fascinated with her. Her dominance (yeah... early Tyson like for sure) and that look of ferocity when she gets her fight face on. My first view of the knockout sequence in the gif and further coverage in this below. "Ronda Rousey was less than pleased with Bethe Correia screaming in her face at weigh-ins the day before Rousey destroyed Correia in the octagon Sunday morning, so she took the opportunity to send one final message after dropping Correia to the canvas. Rousey revealed in her post-fight press conference that she repeated words that Correia had told her Saturday. Via MMA Junkie: “I said the exact same thing she was saying to me at weigh-ins, you know she was screaming in my face at weigh-ins. She was saying, ‘Don’t cry.’ So, I turned around after I knocked her out and said, ‘Don’t cry.'” Jason Silva/USA TODAY Sports " http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/08/ronda-rousey-told-bethe-correia-dont-cry-after-knockout
She's great for the sport. She's just not my taste. The UFC has done a terrific job marketing her and selling her fights. 'Hardcore' fans like myself have know and knew the completion on WAMMA is a joke. That's not to discredit Ronda; she's just capitalizing on it, and I can't blame her. I have a lot of passion for MMA. Besides the Lakers, it's my next best thing I love to do. Ronda's bringing a lot of notoriety to the sport. Nobody knows s*** about that the technical side because more are 'casual' fans, but hey, it's not hurting the UFC at all.
ROFY That's funny to me. Twice now over maybe 3 months or so you have said Ronda is not your taste or type (?) Am kind of curious what your favorite female to hang with would be, that could also kick the living crap out of you if you screwed up, or any a-h***s you might ever encounter in a bar or on the street (no weapons). What would that gal need to be......to be your type? (going for the humor. I think you were talking serious about the state of the fighting organizations)
Check this out. Get it while it's hot and still there. Not sure how UFC isn't doing cease and desist orders as it's fan's view footage. Great perspective. Only a few spots where video jumps too much because they're repositioning. The excitement in the ring comes across very well prior to the start of the match. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/08/ronda-rousey-bethe-correia-knockout-video-fan-shot
He retired after the fight. Also, several fighters tested positive a week prior to their fights and were still allowed to fight. Dana reaps the $$$ and then suspends them. BS IMO.
I laugh every time when i hear word "doping in sports". Just legalize this ish and be done with it. In few days we'll likely see Gatlin vs. Bolt. If anyone thinks the latter is clean and have a chance against a well known doper, well... unicorns are out there too and BTW, Dana is greedy as f***.
I'm surprised they are putting Holm up against Rousey. She's a great boxer, but I don't think she's anywhere near ready for Rousey yet. That will probably be another short fight.
