Yeah, I've been keeping up with this since yesterday; hit and run, the women that was involved in the collision was pregnant and suffered a broken arm. As of right now, nobody knows where Jones is...it's a crazy story still developing.
^Oh, yeah, it's been officially elevated to Felony Leaving the Scene of the accident because of the injury that the victim sustained.

Historically I have not been a supporter of the Weidman hype train. But last night he demonstrated some very heavy hands and more importantly dominant grappling. I think Rockhold and Jacare will push him much harder than Vitor and Machisa did, but he looks better everytime. Great moment when his pops pushes Rogan aside to whisper in his son's ear and then "that's my boy!"
My brother in law actually thinks mayweather would beat Rousey in an mma fight because an elite male athlete is just physically superior to an elite female athlete. Obviously an elite ground game equalizes and obliterates any physical advantage. He feels with a year of grappling training Floyd could beat Ronda. I mentioned that Ronda is so good that she could probably beat many male mma fighters in her weight class. he thinks a 30 ranked male fighter could beat Ronda. I concede most top 10 men in her weight class could beat her, but not top 30. please chime in with your thoughts, as he asked me to take a poll and show him.
He's flat wrong. In a year mayweather would still struggle mightily. Its not like he is an accomplished wrestler who already knows a great deal about grappling, nor does he know anything about take downs nor take down defense. Thats like saying a track star can be turned into a all pro running back with a year of football drills even though they have never played football or even watched it all that much. But even that analogy fails because mma is much more complex I terms of skills than football, at any position. Even with a year of training he still gets planted on the mat and gets an arm broken. Ronda just has to get ahold of him and its over. Furthermore he doesnt even understand how to stand in mma. He has spent a lifetime training to keep the majority of his weight on his front foot like all boxers. In mma you do that and you either get dropped due to leg kicks or easily taken down. He has to fundamentally and systematically rewrite his muscle memory. Btw Ronda gets beat by top 10 135 men in MMA, I'm not sure they could take her in pure grappling.
I think the biggest problem for her would be strength, specifically striking power. Men simply hit harder. While I don't think that helps a boxer who has no ability to stop grappling, it does with a strong mma fighter who has the prerequisite skills developed. That being said the reality is that most mma divisions lack true depth so once you clear top 12 you aren't dealing with a ton of talent. So I will say at worst its a toss up cause her skill is miles ahead of the 15-30 fighters, at best she taps them with ease.
Luke Rockhold is about as strong as they come in the UFC, and he could only hold out about a minute and a half before he got armbared
Speaking of arms about to get purposely ripped from their socket..... you just did your's no favor, "Beche". (Bethe?) Ronda's dad committed suicide and Correia likely knew that after reading Ronda's book. Ronda Rousey's next opponent just went way, way too far with pre-fight insults By Adam Ireland on May 28, 2015 Rousey (left) and Correia (right) will face off on August 2 In an attempt to initiate a verbal sparring session with UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (11-0), Brazilian challenger Beche Correia (9-0) has exceeded the boundaries of traditional pre-fight hype, stating that she hopes Rousey "does not kill herself" after tasting defeat. The two undefeated fighters will square-off on August 2 at UFC 190, with Correia wasting no time hyping the fight two months out. In terms of promoting a fight, history dictates that pretty much anything goes - but Correia's mention of suicide clearly pushes the envelope beyond what most consider to be reasonable in the fight game. “I want to knock her out, show to everyone that she is a lie. She wants to stand up with me, let’s see. I want to humiliate her and show the word she has no MMA. She is focused on movies, books. I am much stronger, I come from a developing country, where people are struggling to survive, not to starve. It is very different from her life of reality," the seventh ranked contender told Brazilian media outlet Combate. In reference to Rousey's surging career in Hollywood and consistent presence in mainstream media, Correia's initial sledge falls into the category of "fair play" before their title fight in eight weeks time. But Correia continues slamming the champion in the interview, flippantly adding in "I hope she doesn't kill herself" in her final remark. "Under pressure, she is proving weak. When her mom put pressure on her, she ran away from home. When she lost, it was because of drugs. That’s not a superhero. She is not mentally healthy, she needs to take care of herself. She is winning, so everybody is around her cheering her up, but when she realizes she is not everything that she believes she is, I don’t know what might happen. I hope she does not kill herself later on,” she said. It's very rare that a site like ours takes the high ground on such matters, after all, we report on men and women fighting in a cage for a living, but Correia's comments, however off-the-cuff or flippant they may seem, are way over the line. If Jon Jones (21-1) and Daniel Cormier (15-1) want to let their hands go a few weeks before their actual fight (see below), then so be it - that's on them. But suicide is not a joke, and shouldn't be used as a punch line to sell pay-per-views. Hopefully Correia soon learns that when promoting a fight, there are some things you can say and other things you can't. Unfortunately, her most recent comments fall in the latter category. http://mmakanvas.ninemsn.com.au/art...t-way-way-too-far-with-pre-fight-insults.html
He just wasn't in shape and Werdum put on him in the 2nd and 3rd. Great showing by the new and undisputed champ. Should be interesting to see what happens next. Rematch or mix it up. I hope its a mix up cause there are some up and comers that deserve a shot. I would say Doom vs Cigano, and and some combo of Cain Stipe, AA and Rothwell.
