OK thanks. Seems like UFC rates their divisions heavier than Boxing divisions. From online Encyclopedia Britannica: minimumweight, 105 pounds (48 kg) light flyweight, 108 pounds (49 kg) flyweight, 112 pounds (51 kg) super flyweight, 115 pounds (52 kg) bantamweight, 118 pounds (53.5 kg) super bantamweight, 122 pounds (55 kg) featherweight, 126 pounds (57 kg) super featherweight, 130 pounds (59 kg) lightweight, 135 pounds (61 kg) super lightweight, 140 pounds (63.5 kg) welterweight, 147 pounds (67 kg) super welterweight, 154 pounds (70 kg) middleweight, 160 pounds (72.5 kg) super middleweight, 168 pounds (76 kg) light heavyweight, 175 pounds (79 kg) cruiserweight, 200 pounds (91 kg) heavyweight, unlimited https://www.britannica.com/sports/boxing/Weight-divisions
Boxing has used the same weight classes for a hundred years. They're a little antiquated at this point honestly. People are bigger and faster and stronger. UFC is more accurate and that's just because they're still a relatively new sport.
I agree, but think that changes could be made to make even better. I think they could easily add a 225 division between the 205ers and 265ers.
LOL. Don't know or care who Casper Smart is. But choosing to attend McGregor vs Diaz 2 rather than a fund raiser in the Hamptons cost him snuggling up next to Jennifer Lopez going forward. Oh well. https://www.yahoo.com/news/jennifer-lopez-broke-her-longtime-044405562.html
No man there was that one movie where she just kicked a** on a husband who had been abusing her and stalking her and she faked drowned in the ocean to get away. And then took a bunch of martial arts. Don't mess with Jen.
Honestly I want to see Conner pick 145 or 155 and go clean house. I do want a 3rd one with Diaz at 155, but would prefer a title run or defense first Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Wasn't expecting CM Punk to do very well at all but was hoping he'd at least put up a fight. Feel bad for the guy.
He was pretty unfairly trashed in social media... He tried something most people don't have the courage to do. Good for him. He should probably not fight again though.
if he was smart he would go back to training full time and take a couple fights out side the UFC. MMA isn't the same as it was in the Pride/Dark years of UFC, these guys mean business.
Can a Refreshed Ronda Rousey Reclaim Her UFC Throne Against Amanda Nunes? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...y-reclaim-her-ufc-throne-against-amanda-nunes
I'll watch. I don't know where she is mentally since she fell off the map for a while there, but I'm tuning in to see for sure.
I've said it before and will say it again, she needs a real camp and a real set of coaches Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Is there any news or indication ever that maybe her management team realizes this yet? Guess it's too early to know who's she training with or is it known she's with same staff? I don't think I've ever seen any fighter man or woman so much acknowledge how much a defeat really shook up their world. Certainly she won't have that unbeatable fear factor going for her any more. Pop her real hard if you can early and stay away from the mat, and maybe she has doubts right away in a painful fight again? How big, talented of a boxer and strong is Nunes? Who you do you guys like?
I think the real reason she got stomped had less to do with her chin, and more to do with her complete lack of preparation. She just kept coming and coming no matter what. Holly just kept landing punches... IIRC her management team are her trainers. I am sure she has an agent that handle the contracts etc, but I do not think she has a separate management team. There has never been an mma champ that was dominant for years that trained solo like she does. They all trained with other elite athletes and spent the time going from camp to camp. I think she can definitely beat Nunes. She lost to Holy over horrible coaching and not making adjustments. Holly was beating Meisha soundly before pulling an amateur escape attempt in the 5th. And Meisha, who I don't mean to belittle, really hasn't shown any big time skill development, outside of having a huge heart. The biggest question I have is about RR mentally. She will either go out and be ready or she is still broken and thats what is going to be a big part of this next fight.
