I haven't looked at his most recent stint in Cleveland to see where they ranked. As a matter of fact, I think I'll look at all of his past teams and see where they've finished up during the season. Grant it, I know the personnel is different on everyone of those teams; maybe there is a pattern. I'll look it up later.

Just watched Backstage Lakers and they had a segment on James Worthy coming into practice and teaching all the bigs proper footwork. He also said he'd be coming into practice every week to work with them. Glad our legends have Byron's back, unlike the last guy that was coach.

I read or maybe I watched it in his Post Practice Interview with the media, but Byron said that he would start to dial it down a bit in regards to the running and pounding on the legs as we're nearing closer to the start of the season. He mentioned too like Kobe was saying that guys legs have been a little heavy the last week, which is the main reason he's making practices a little shorter now and not as physically demanding.

    Good sign.

I was going to come in and post this too.

The guys said they would come around practice; Magic, Kareem, Jamaal all said they'd be around helping out. Worthy (and AC Green) so far is the first, but that's really amazing when you think about it. How many other franchises have that? Who in Milwaukee is going to come down and give guys tips? Do they have a Hall of Famer in the booth that's willing to come down and coach a little bit? Does Dallas have a SF that was voted into the Top 50 Players of All-Time list to give tips to Chandler Parsons?

Nope. That's us. We have those resources. We have those people. I really hope we see more of Worthy around and hopefully we see Kareem and Magic and Wilkes come around too. Maybe Coop when he's not coaching can stop by. I know Shaq is a part owner of the Kings so he's not necessarily realistic. There's even role players like Fox and Horry around though sometimes that could give pointers.

Our pedigree is a HUGE weapon for us and something we haven't embraced. I hope this is the start of a really solid tradition of getting our retired players around the facility to help keep our tradition rich and teach the next generations about how to achieve greatness.

Fortunately the thing Shaq was best at was the one thing he can't teach any of our guys and that's size. He can spend his time trying to corral Boogie.

Shaq was the most dominant guy in the League for a bit, he's definitely got some knowledge he could pass on. I don't know if he's mature enough to do it, but he's got plenty of knowledge to pass out. He can't teach size, but his footwork was good and he had a great feel for the game.

This is our head coach in 2014-2015. Not 86-87.

    Last 10 NBA champions;

    2014 Spurs - 21.4 3PA per game (16th in league)[1]

    2013 Heat - 22.1 3PA per game (6th in league)[2]

    2012 Heat - 15.6 3PA per game (23rd in league)[3]

    2011 Mavs - 21.6 3PA per game (5th in league)[4]

    2010 Lakers - 19 3PA per game (10th in league)[5]

    2009 Lakers - 18.5 3PA per game (15th in league)[6]

    2008 C Bags - 19.1 3PA per game (12th in league)[7]

    2007 Spurs - 19 3PA per game (7th in league)[8]

    2006 Heat - 17.6 3PA per game (12th in league)[9]

    2005 Spurs - 17 3PA per game (13th in league)

Not one team shot as few 3 pointers as Byron is hoping to do.

Get ready for this season guys because I have a feeling this is going to be poopoo. I have full confidence in our roster. Scott still hasn't shown me anything that says he's capable of handling this team's offense.

Sure it's 'preseason and he's working on it.' That doesn't excuse the fact that he is straight up ignoring modern basketball common knowledge.

That data suggests that he's right.
Probability of being a champ given that you're top 10 in the league in 3s attempted: 3 in 100.
Probability of being a champ given that you're top 5 in the league in 3s attempted: 1 in 100.
None of those teams were top 4.
Average rank: 11.9 - high middle of the pack.

Now, you're surely right, too. None of those teams shot 10-15 3s per game. Only one of them was close.

If Fox and Horry are going to be helping anyone, it's going to be there good buddy Derek Fisher in NY.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. Scott's offense by design creates a lot of long 2s. I am reading a lot about his Schemes at his most recent stink in Cleveland and of course watching these games; needless to say, I am not coming away very hopeful about his Xs and Os so far...

Another coach coming into the season with a plan that has nothing to do with the strengths of our roster, just a general view of what it takes to win? Recipe for disaster. This is 1 of the reasons I was hoping for George Karl.. He's proven time after time that he will adjust his system to the strengths of his teams instead of forcing a system on them.

Byron wants to get 3 point shots the traditional way. Attack the basket, get fouled, make the shot and hit the and1. Put the other team in foul trouble.

I don't have a problem with this approach if we have the right personnel. Kobe, X, Lin, Randle, and Young have a good knack for picking up fouls.
