It is basically a reverse crusade, so to speak. The motives, much like with the crusades, may be mostly fiscal or induced by control hunger, but the
company line is ideological and when put in motion, it can't be stopped by reasoning or compromises. No stopping the raging masses.

Whether someone believes in its existence or feels that it's mostly media-induced fear-mongering (which is, of course, there),
doesn't matter. The dog barks and the caravan goes on.

Side note: I always thought WWII was a cultural war as well. WWI wasn't. War of Independence was a cultural war.

 

FYI - profiling is a sham. Certainly not close to how it is portrayed in the movies/series...

I wasn't referring to this concrete case, rather to @trodgers fear-mongering response to my comment that our reality is changed and no one is safe.

And it would be radical Islam cultural war on everything else, including less radical Islam. Wouldn't be the first too.

I agree that the threat of "radical Islam" is being underestimated, and our culture's hesitance to call it out because of political correctness and a fear of being labeled racist is going to cause problems. I mean that specifically happened here, where some of the shooter's coworkers didn't want to say anything about his anger and hateful comments in case they were wrong and ended up being accused of racial profiling.
