F****** Shaq. Always about "dominate/dominant". The sheer luck of the genetic draw blessed him with an athletic 7' 310 body so he could call out guys 60lbs lighter as soft for not being able keep him and his elbows away from the rim. Always disliked that about him and he pissed away years of his career not being willing to stay in shape.

Sure gold is gold but he right we didn’t smoke teams and show them NBA is the best league ever . The rest of the world is catching up to us, that’s just the reality of it . Look at WNBA players Olympic finals , they barley won, ONLY if her feet were half an inch outside the line. Edit; I really don’t care about the Olympics nor I find it exciting . I did enjoy the Breakdancing event though lol
let's play with nba rules, nba three point line, and nba officials instead of fiba for all three. people also downplay how valuable continuity is for the non-us national teams. the us is still by far the basketball country in the world, and the gap hasn't narrowed as much as the results indicate, imo. only a couple guys on each of these national teams can crack an nba rotation. the nba is definitely, by far, the best basketball league in the world.
I did enjoy Jokers fat head getting beat by US, he walked on the court acting like he had a chance . And looks like he is working on that beer belly now.
in fairness, his team nearly beat ours. but to me, that's not evidence that serbia is as good as the us or the nba isn't the world's best league (jokic and boganovic play in the nba). it's evidence that continuity, style of play, rules, and the single elimination format make international competition different. we beat serbia handily a couple other times. had we played them 10 times, we'd beat them 8 or 9 of them. that's still domination, imo.
No country is taking that gold medal from US anytime soon or ever. Let’s just put it that way . That is still pretty good domination as well, but Shaq has a good point. Maybe it’s his cheap shot of saying old NBA was better .
Shaq had a dominant run in the NBA, having bad feet as a 300 plus pound human being, doesn't tend to lead to staying in great shape.
single elimination tournament, playing teams with guys like giannis, jokic, and wemby plus a bunch of old guys who can shoot the lights out...we can definitely lose. my point is that losing a single game doesn't mean "the world has caught up" or whatever. everybody knows that the 12 best us players would beat the 12 best players from any other country 8 times out of 10.
Brazil was the only blow out game, rest of their games were pretty close . I guess that’s just my definition of them catching up
we beat serbia 110-84 in pool play. we could do that several more times. as kerr said, they played a nearly perfect game. credit to them, their guys stepped up. we had an ok game and still beat them, though.
