Good point. I just hate this season and what it's done to us. It makes me sick.

Well crap, I just noticed Utah is going to be on the second night of a back-to-back when they fly into LA for Thursday's game. Not good for the tank, but hopefully they can keep up their recent streak of solid play all the same.

And yes, the fact that we are seemingly in every game until the last few possessions, regardless of who the opponent is, does rattle some nerves. At some point those late bricks will inevitably go in and cause us to accidentally win a game or two. That said, if the team can keep up this trend of losing but hanging tough then it's great experience for our young guys...you know, when they aren't benched down the stretch in favor of a squad made up of vets auditioning for contracts with other teams.

In an ideal situation our young players would be getting tons of minutes and lose every game for the rest of the year by 1. That isn't likely to happen though, and the fear of heading into the summer and losing the pick, which is the only positive thing that can come from this awful season, causes fans to hope for the team to be beaten soundly rather than barely get the desperately needed loss.

hopefully this tank will land us a cornerstone and we won't have to talk about tanking for decades.

You know Utah has been probably the best team in the NBA since the All-Star break right?

^They've been 9-1 in their last 10 games. The 1 L that they had was to us...funny enough.

Yes, that's why I said hopefully they keep up their recent streak of solid play. They have been good since the All-Star break. Are they really this good? Probably not, and that's where there is some concern about them regressing. As Randle mention, they did lose to us once already. On top of that, getting them on the second night of a back-to-back when we are on 3 days rest and playing at home isn't a good thing.

Hopefully they still beat us, but hey, we have beaten GS, ATL, SAS, TOR, etc this year. Even with as well as they have been playing nothing is for certain.

    Also,
Yes, they are this good. Hayward is having a fantastic year, Gobert has been great, and they upgraded their coaching staff with Snyder who is doing a great job. They'll add another solid draft pick next year and will compete for the PO's as the 8th seed, IMO.

It could be a close game, but I don't see them losing to us after the way they've been playing. We were the exception because they didn't take us seriously. That's not going to happen again.

Been saying this for weeks. I wish it wasn't so but just look at our schedule and the teams below us in the standings. 3rd spot = not gonna happen

Who do you think NYK, MIN and PHI would target?
NYK probably for Okafor. PHI wouldn't want another big buy, right?
and MIN is a question of how much does they like Dieng versus Towns.
    3rd pick is necessary.

SAS-NYK is going down to the wire. I wonder what will happen...

    EDIT: OT.

    Knicks win, surprisingly.

On the other hand, ORL was tied with Houston, even had a lead, but managed to lose it in the clutch.

NY wins but ORL tanks down the stretch, and Tobias got hurt. We really need ORL to win a game or two at some point. Unfortunately it's looking like the only chance the Lakers have of moving up is if they lose out or maybe win once as long as it isn't over PHI or MIN. Nearly impossible to do that without obviously trying to throw games.

I can't believe the Knicks won that game. While it's still possible for us to catch the teams ahead of us we're going to need some luck or a better tanking strategy.

    Update for 3/18

DET @ PHI (should be a great tanktastic game; Philly wins, IMO)
ORL @ DAL (have to pick Dallas here)
