Maybe. The players are livid with management. They hate them. They may have a lot of fight in them. Talent wise...we are both brutally awful.
I think 2-3 during this stretch at best. We may win one of the games against Detroit and Utah (but I doubt both of them) and probably the the game against the Knicks. I think we will find a way though and end up going 1-4.
Great game. Tight until the very end, killer stuff from Clarkson for most of the game, Davis cleaning up the boards. I like Tarik Black as well. Sir Duke was rocking. Even Booz and Wes were playing great. But best of all we still got the loss for the tank! Thank you Monta Ellis and Aminu for showing up tonight.
Clarkson is a steal. Davis, I keep over Hill if he'd accept a reasonable long term contract. If Black will stay for the minimum I keep him too, I keep Ellington for Wes Johnson money. Everyone else I can take or leave. Actually if we sign some big names this offseason, get our draft pick or trade it for an all-star caliber player and become instantly competitive, I try and keep Boozer for the minimum as well. Nick Young, I try to trade. Kelly, don't care. Sacre, don't care. Wes, see ya later.
Fri, Mar 27 @ Toronto 7:30 PM Sun, Mar 29 @ Brooklyn 3:30 PM Mon, Mar 30 @ Philadelphia 7:00 This is a pretty tough schedule, 3 game in 4 days on the road on B2B, we might lose this game in Philly.
I feel like two or three more wins from Orlando might seal the 4 spot for the lakers. they're five wins behind (ahead?!) right now, and the lakers would have to win a pretty decent clip (for them) to pass them. I wish they could catch minny, but I think that's too tall an order. i'll take the odds at 4th worst record. you can't expect much more with so many excellent tankers going at it this year.
Knicks might be able to get a W against the equally as awful Nuggets tonight. One thing is for sure, it's bound to be a terrible game. I pity anyone who has to watch that trash.
The stretch is even tougher, before the Toronto game we are in OKC on Tuesday and in Minny on Wednesday. So its 5 games in 7 days, all on the road...if we lose out it would be awesome and it is quite possible! I really like that there is a huge playoff battle going on in the east, and that there is only a small gap between 3-7 in the west, so these teams are all going for wins. That really helps out tank.
That's great. I still hope our young guys continue to develop their game, of course. Clarkson, Tarik, Kelly and Sacre need minutes.
One important note, if we manage to tie for the 3 worst record, there is only about 10% chance (pingpong balls are equally divided between the 2 teams), that we dont land in top 5. And that goes even further down if we win the coinflip for the draft order.
I think 2-3 is probably our sweet spot. GS and Atlanta will have their way with us. I think Detroit and Utah are both loseable, but we will only lose one. NY is an NBADL team at this point. We'd have to bench Clarkson, Lin, Hill and Boozer to lose to them.
