Losing the pick causes more dmg than just this yr, we'll also lose an unprotected pick to orl in 2019 as well

Tanking should not come at the cost of your soul. Doing that makes you the Sixers, and I don't care how much they appear to have started to recover, they're not winning anything that matters.

And 1 more win changes things for the better? I cant say this gm was tankable, the mem game couldve been. As for sixer tanking, yea that was them trying by assembling a team full of dleague callups, 2nd rd picks and undrafted players. This team has been as bad record wise and has actual bball talent, one win here and there doesnt change the makeup of a team

No, that's not what I was saying at all. I just meant I was glad to see Luke, at least publicly, stating that he will put the importance of his players going out there and competing and not playing to lose ahead of wanting that pick at all costs. I believe trying to lose on purpose is wrong in every regard, and it will come back to get you later. Luke put the "tank" lineup out there, they just weren't interested in rolling over and getting beaten, and I'll actually take that as a good sign and not be mad at it. You can't tell players to throw a game, can't do it, so good on them for showing some pride when they're expected to lose. That's all I meant, it's disgraceful to go out and show that Philly attitude to lose on purpose, and I'm glad we don't do that and go full Philly. You never go full Philly.

I can live with winning if the giys out there were randle, ingram, jc etc. But the giys who did the most was Ennis, who will more than likely bolt to whoever shows him the most $, same with Trob, he is saying the right things but so did Ed Davis

So you wanted Ennis and Robinson to throw the game then? Not likely. And when they ARE winning a game with that group those aren't the sort of guys to roll over and throw the game, they're fighting for their careers. Complaining about this win doesn't change the outcome any more than complaining about a loss turns it into a win.

I'm in with winning out now.. We're guaranteed 3rd worst record.. It's all gonna come down to a tiny, plastic ball anyways.

such a non-issue, imo. so your odds (which weren't great) go down 10%. this pick was as good as gone with the top 3 protection, particularly after the 10-10 start.

swallow it and move on; consider keeping the pick a miracle, and you'll feel better.

a positive way to think about it: not having the pick limits some options this summer (i.e., overpaying for a second-tier star), which might not be a terrible thing in the long run.

We'd lose the cap hit a year earlier and it'd be a 26 million dollar relief... It's just crazy enough to work...

Which begs the question, why do the Knicks do it? I mean, aren't we trading Deng to the Magic for Aaron Gordon, Vucevic and our first rounder back?

It's too late now. Our only chance was to lose out. Phoenix wasn't going to win another game. At this point the tank is kind of over. We aren't going to win enough games to catch Orlando, and I don't think Phoenix can win a game at this point. If Orlando beats the Nets tonight, we might as well go all out the last 4 games.
