Fultz and DAR are similar players.

maybe sz wise but I'm not seeing the attacking part from DAR, even in his OSU highlights was mostly perimiter oriented

They are. Fultz is a more athletic version and it's possible Fultz is a hungrier player, but there's been insufficient evidence to make that call. Fultz's attitude is definitely a red flag for me.

Young Jarrett Allen declares for the draft. I'll edit this later but the kid reminded me a bit of Bynum when I was watching his film.

edit- He's not as big as Bynum. Allen is listed at 6'11" and 224 pounds. However he's got terrific talent and ability to go along with a propensity to not push it all the time. Bynum at his highest point was an absolute monster and when we were a great team, he was dedicated. When things faltered, Bynum lost focus. I think Allen has a similar streak in him.

Still, Allen is a really good athlete with a great frame. He can control the game on the glass when he wants to and while his post game is rudimentary, it's still effective (like early Bynum). He needs a good landing spot and time to develop. In today's NBA he needs a jumper. I don't think he'll ever be Bynum at his best because he's simply not as big as Bynum was, but he can be a very good Center. I like him more than Robert Williams who just dropped out.

"he cant take his guy 1 on 1. I'm seeing the same trend with Ball, he doesn't seem to have the handles either to attack his guy on ISO"

DAR's handles have continued to improve this season to the point of being pretty damn impressive at his age now. See clip above. See what he was doing in his 40 point game.

but you get what I mean though right? Russell doesn't take his man off the dribble to the paint, JC does that alot more often. I mean if there was a shot chart someone could provide it would show my point, alot of Russell offense comes from the perimiter and most it comes from PnR that he either takes a mid range or a 3pt shot. Look at Irving that same game, how easily can get to the rim and or take an open shot because his handles and speed puts his guy of balance, that is something I see from Fultz.

    D'Angelo Russell shot count:

    At the Rim: 53/96
    3-10 feet: 46/101
    10-16 feet: 35/97
    16-3PT line: 49/113
    3PT line +: 113/322

D'Angelo is assisted on 40.9% of his shots which is very similar to Jimmy Butler at 39.8% and CJ McCollum at 39.5%.

not sure where the "russell can't play beat people one-on-one narrative" started, but it's silly. he roasts people in isolation quite a bit.

he doesn't finish well at the rim. that can improve with experience; plus, if he can get a floater to go with the little stop and pop, the net result will be similar.

i also think having a real roll threat on the roster would do him wonders. as it stands, he's always facing a waiting defender if he beats his guy, even on the pick and roll.

I think it stems from him not being athletic enough to blow past people. D'Angelo scores with craftiness and he makes some really tough jumpers.

Yes Russell's effective a lot from the perimeter ....it's great he's becoming a Lakers and league legend with his 3s shooting. But how about that [IMG] tight area all around the paint from where he can dish, which he does, or kill them offensively. He gets to wherever he wants to go now and his handle has become quicker than ever but also more solid in control. Nash like in that regard at a young age. But how about the long term career potential of Andre Miller with the safer game with his size he plays. He still blows by guys and gets to rack the times he gets guys off balance because he's quick enough. I never cringe for his safety when he's going balls out. He's solid mechanically. Ingram is great mechanically too but I do worry all the time with him in the air and physics.

Fultz & DLO are not a good pairing. Ball is superior in almost every way. Fultz won't ever reach the potential Ball has.

Russ slow dribbles into the paint and creates a bubble where he gets off a lot of good looks. He's not a guy who streaks to the rim, so he doesn't stand out as a guy who beats his guy just because he's not doing it like fast first step guys do.

Let's get one thing straight, Ball's shot may be ugly, but he's an ELITE 3-point shooter. Because his shot comes from the left, it throws defenders off and he's able to elevate quick enough where defenders aren't able to reach quite often.

But he's shooting around 50% from 3 right now, and he's shooting quite a few from the NBA distance.

I've kind of come to like that shot now [IMG] .... it's kind of cute in an ugly way (but smooth) and yeah the guy is nailing them like a dagger kind of as needed clutch shooter. Don't mess with the shot. If DAR can get his off so can Lonzo.

Whats wrong with DAR shot? Looks standard to me and its a quicker release than ball....they compare ball shot to Kevin Martin, that guy needed to play off ball he couldnt create his own shot that easily due to that release
