It's why I've been inherently against tanking all year! Our odds at keeping the pick were never good. Obviously at a point it became a matter of reality that we were tanking, but even if we were the worst team in the league, we'd only have a 64% chance or so to keep the pick. Not even 3/4 of a chance.

As bad as we are, it's literally a coin flip to keep the pick. For what it's worth the odds breakdown for 2nd worst is:

    1st pick- 19.9%
    2nd pick- 18.8%
    3rd pick- 17.1%
    4th pick- 31.9%
    5th pick- 12.3%

So statistically speaking the greatest odds for our pick is 4th, which of course we'd give up.

Man, I hope there is a still a debt owed, but somehow I doubt it. What, you don't believe the draft process is totally legit?

This thing is badda** I'm guessing. Wonder what the thing in the middle does. Wonder what all the long barrels are for too. Can't be good on the other end.

If we get the number 1 pick, I can see this site getting more traffic.

It depends on the ping pong balls...the process sucks but if you get rewarded afterwards, it softens the pain.

it sucks extra hard if you tank and move down in the lottery or lose your pick...
it sucks if you keep your pick or move up but the draftees ain't worth it.

^With Isiah Thomas, Horford etc. they should have to get a solid wing like Butler or George instead of keeping the pick.

They are in win now mode. If they sign Fultz or Ball and have Isiah as their PG and Smart as the backup...and Rozier...its kind of messed up. I'm wondering what they will do but getting a PG is kind of pointless for Boston.

They will try to trade down or even just trade it and then fail cause they are asking for way too much. But yeah, they are pretty stacked at the guard positions, don't forget Avery Bradley too.

I could see them drafting a guard and letting Isaiah go as a FA when his deal expires.
