Russell is out for at least the next week. It's time to prioritize development.

-Russell out doesn't change a thing. They would've gotten destroyed today regardless.

No, we aren't tanking, we just suck. We're a young team with no leader that I can see, and no longer have a star player, let alone a superstar/all time great. This is a rebuild, we suck. We aren't tanking, we're just losing, and yet we're in the same boat as the Knicks, Mavs, Wolves, Sixers, Suns and a couple others. Actually, beat down or not we're in a better boat than the Mavs, because they suck and they aren't rebuilding with a young core, they have old players that are almost done (Dirk, Williams), and an expensive middle of the pack players like Wes Matthews and Barnes.

Yep. I'd start resting Young and Lou. Develop the youth. 16-32. 34 more games to go with Portland and Utah coming up...

    Just my opinion.

Judging by their pathetic effort today, we might be actually tanking on purpose.

tanking is still stupid because of the pick protection being solely dependent upon luck, but...it's happening, with or without consent or endorsement.

I've officially joined Team Tank. This team is terrible. I know everybody on the site is against it, but whatever. I want the pick this year. If it adds another 19 year old who we can't wait to criticize or if it's traded for an impact piece, don't matter to me at this point.

Well I've resigned myself to the fact we're not making the playoffs. And peaking at the prospects coming out, they do look enticing. However I'm not rooting for losses, but I think if Luke just focuses on teaching the young bucks, giving them as much run as possible and hope they start to put together good habits, the losses still will come naturally. I do want to see them finish the season strong and see where the chips lie. If we do keep our pick I'll be ecstatic. If not, at least the guys got a good solid year of experience under their belt and hopefully they'll be motivated to improve even more next year.

Man, that's why I was convincing you to start a tank thread 2 games back in GD, ROFY! You have the vision on these things the past two years lol, you the lucky tank thread starting charm. We need a number 1 pick this time.

Let's let the tank culture leave with Byron. The benefits to working on a winning culture, which this team already has proven it can do, far outweigh the tank. As abeer3 said, we were lucky to get our picks before, lets not push that. You notice how depressed these guys are? If we can't make it work with these youths or one or some of them over the next few years then we need to make good trades for stars and do the rest through FA. But it's not time to give up yet. Not nearly. This is a knee-jerk reaction to a bad spell, we've never been Philly FFS let's not become them.

We all expected tough times didn't we? This is one. 2 of our core players still out. Despite it all this team is advancing FAR more than last year in terms of growth. This team is still immature and inconsistent. We beat a playoff team then get blown out by one of the worst teams. We've been tied for 6th in the West this year, we never came close to a top ten standing last season.

Screw the pick. We probably wouldn't get a top 3 anyways our luck has ran long enough. If we are a bottom 3 team for the 3rd year in the row then we start looking like a Philly and that's not acceptable for the Lakers. Then the pressure will be on Jeanie to do something about the FO immediately (as it would for any team president) and I think she will. If not then she'll be viewed as incompetent by her league peers.
