I watched the game and while I am late to the thread - I don't see how the title fits - ? We lost? The summer league is not about "W"s though they are nice. Its about (in my view and in no particular order):

    1. Getting Rooks on the Floor to keep them fresh and see how they do.
    2. Getting 2nd year players on the floor with the rooks to keep them fresh and see how they do.
    3. Getting guys who are begging to make a training camp roster a chance to show they either should have been drafted or are worth a look.
    4. Not getting injured.

Here is my take on yesterday's game (again in no particular order):

    1. Randle looked rusty but great and explosive. Once he starts hitting his elbow jumpers and finishing (better spring in step) - he is going to be that player I think I have been calling him for a while - mix between James Worthy and Charles Barkley. Lookout!

    2. Russell looked amazing. Floor general (like Gary Payton) plus poise and flash (Buck meets Nick the Quick). Watch him grow but that ballsy 3 in Lavine's face on the next trip up the floor said a lot - as did his chemistry with Clarkson.

    3. Clarkson showed why he is a pro and outplayed the rookies and also rans.

    4. Not enough floor time to rate Nance, Jr. yet.

    5. Upshaw showed some balls against Towns and anyone else they put on him. Randle vs. Payne was not really a 'matchup' but Randle out played him down low.

    6. No one got hurt.

Lakers looked awesome in my opinion.

Missed last night's game and was planning on catching tonight's until NBA.Com f***ed me. I ordered the package, not only did it charge me three times but it didn't authorize my order so I paid $15 for a service I can't use. Their only current means of contact is email, so I have to wait on them to reply and fix it.

Since I'm not expecting that to be prompt, any other links out there to tonight's game?

I'm not gonna lie. I think Okafor is better than Russell. Okafor just looks like he belongs. He looks very decisive and he seems NBA ready. Russell is still pretty good nonetheless.

And hats off to Mitch. Nance Jr looks like a steal. Dude is playing harder than anyone out there and he knows his limiations, knows where to be on the floor, what not. Solid role player at the PF position.

Russell is going to have to prove it to me. I was very upset about the FO passing over Okafor for him. The sting has worn off a little, and with the Hibbert signing I feel much better about our direction, but I hated that before and after people seemed to be coming down hard on Okafor. I like the kid and feel bad that he got stuck in Philly with their awful FO.

Byron said backup PF is gonna be Bass. So I guess Randle is our starting PF.

Nance is just consistent. You know what you're gonna get from him. I like him a lot. I don't think he's a power player up front but he makes it up with mobility, energy and smarts.

And thats where the questions about Okafor is...Is he a defensive anchor? Doesn't look like it but he's got Nerlens Noel to back him up on the court
