Yeah that's just over confidence talking. He finally feels pretty good so he's thinking ahead. He needs to get through the rest of camp first.

As long as it's not for the Lakers, getting paid 9 million dollars, taking up chunks of minutes for developing players, do you Steve. Otherwise Lakers stay away, far away.

No, this is going to be his last season. Looking great today though.

I totally respect his attitude. No one wants to give up the dream.

    But he's crazy.

Vitti described Nash as "fragile" in the NBA Training Camp feature. He stated that his minutes will be monitored. I believe he will contribute some during the season. With Lin and Price as capable back-ups, the staff looks to plan in saving Nash. Now if he can only avoid injuring himself during practice.

I'll never forget the day the Lakers aquired him. I was SO freaking excited. I have always loved watching Nash but dude hasn't performed here. Age and sports don't mix.

I wish the guy the best. He deserves a chance as a starter but if Lin pans out here, I'd rather have him be our starting PG. This isn't Dallas or Phoenix where we have to feel some kind of obligation to keep him around. If he wants to ball next year, good for him. But he can do it for the Raptors or something.

I like Nash but my main problem with him is this, when people brought up his injury woes since being in LA and some media inquired about him doing a medical retirement (while he was still able to do this and help us out immensely), he basically acted a bit miffed and said he should be treated with respect according to his achievements and that he can decide for himself when to stop playing.

Thing is Steve, your previous accomplishments don't mean anything in LA. We didn't get the benefit of any of them though we have paid you like we should have. We're paying you almost as much as your peak years in Phoenix (who never paid you your full value). You have my respect as an NBA fan for your 2 MVPs and your career stats but they don't count here as a Laker. Phoenix should give latitude in salary commensurate with those achievements as you did a lot for the organization, but not us. I can't blame any player for wanting to get paid their full contract but you are old and have made a lot of paper. You could have bowed out with grace and dignity. I have NO delusions about you having an even "light" injury season in which you play the majority of games. You will break like Mr Glass.

I just cannot foresee Nash remaining healthy for a long period of time. He looked great last night but I'm going to need to see more and I agree, if Lin is performing then start him. I respect what Nash has done in this league but we don't owe him anything.

I'm sorry guys, but i have to disagree.
Nash on one leg only is better than Lin, even at 40.
If he's injured, than start Lin, if he's healthy than let Lin watch from the pine and hope he learns something from one of the three best PG in the history of the game.
    IMHO

Yep he was moving well and looking good last night. Guy is chiseled in abs and chest and clearly put a ton of work in to be in shape. Finally, for now, getting a chance to see some high quality Nash and Kobe together. Kobe looks like he enjoys not having to do all the offensive work. Someone he trusts again, like Fish. Probably like Lin too.

looked really good last night on the offensive end. Like others have said he was able to move and bend down freely. Just the lay-ups and moves to the basket looked a little like vintage Nash.

I was real happy for him.

I was pretty surprised he was actually able to survive an entire game. When Billy and Stu said he was the leading scorer at one point during the game I thought they were joking.

I know I'm in the minority, but I still remain a big Nash fan, even from his Phoenix days. Not so much when they were whipping us of course but still a fan nonetheless. And yes his injuries frustrated all of us including me to the point I thought he should just retire, but I still held out hope that he could recover somewhat and play some good basketball for us. I'm hoping this season he could prove he's worth that 9 mil and help us surprise everyone.

Looking back, I am glad we didn't amnesty this guy and stretch his contract out. Whatever he gives us this year will be great. If he guts hurt, let Clarkson sink or swim. As for playing past this season, dream on Nashty.

I respect only 4 guys in todays NBA and Steve is one of them. Even though he's often injured, plays worse than in his PHX days, i still enjoy seeing him in a Lakers uni. I hope he stays healthy, plays like only he can and finishes his career on a high note.

He's our 2nd best player if he can stay on the floor. I hope he can stay healthy. When he was healthy he was one of my favorite players to watch. I hope he has something left in the tank and he can stay healthy and help us win games and end his career on a high note.
