Sorry man, Jedi bores me for a lot of the movie. I grew up watching it and they seemed to show it on tv more than any other SW film so I'm kinda tired of it. The first half hour is Jabba's palace, which is good by the fight at the end, but then as soon as they get to endor it's boring again, walking around the forest with Ewoks to cutesy music. Then you have the Death Star part 2 which is kind of lame, you have Ewoks taking out the empire (very reminiscent of Gungans vs the droids in episode 1), and you have wuss Han. Only the space battle and the stuff with Luke, Vader and the Emperor saves it for me, otherwise it just isn't as good as the other 2 originals.

Episode 3 isn't perfect, but I love the story, I love the lightsaber battles, I really like Greivous, I love seeing Anakin's fall and the betrayal of the Jedi and such. The ending to 3, the final scenes are pretty epic, they did a great job tying them to the originals in the end. I also really like how it doesn't really stop at any point for long, get bogged down in lame political crap, it keeps moving along at a nice pace and the acting all around is much improved, even if still not great. Watch 2, then 3 and it's night and day from the opening scenes. 3 to me is what we sat through the crap of the first 2 to get to, and it was worth it to me. Makes me wonder how much better 2 would have been had it been a strictly clone wars movie, not just leading into it and then showing the rest in cartoons.

I'm actually with you in the respect I have for Episode 3, but I still like Episode 6 better even if it's close. For me it's:

    5, 4, 6, 3, 1, and 2.

Three is really underrated because it's so deeply tied to the other two movies, but it wasn't really that bad. I recommend it to people to rewatch with an open mind. The first one has a lot of problems and the second one is legitimately a terrible movie, but three isn't bad. That being said, six is better just because of the awesome arc of Luke and Vader and the Emperor.

I don't think Luke is the Sith. The Sith is a different guy. I think after Episode 6 Luke freaks out about how close he came to the Dark Side and he goes into hiding. Then in this movie that Sith dude starts making himself known and so Luke feels compelled to come back and fight him.

I agree with your ranking completely. I didn't mean to imply that I think 3 is a better movie than 6, only that as far as watchability goes, I prefer 3 to 6 most of the time for the reasons I listed. It's more watchable for me if I'm going to sit down and only watch one SW movie other than Empire and the original. Those are infinitely watchable.

There have been leaked images of Luke in Jedi regalia. They would NOT go in that direction. Besides, the guy in the poster is holding the cross guard saber which we know from the toys is Kylo Ren. And Adam Driver has been confirmed to be playing Kylo Ren. This isn't JJ speaking out of the side of his mouth that Cumberbatch isn't Kahn. For Luke to end up as Kylo...that would make all marketing material, toys, etc. a gigantic lie. Disney would not straight up lie to everyone on that grand of a scale to keep a secret in a film...a secret that would disappoint most, if not all star Wars fans. The central core of the entire first six movies was Luke succeeded in standing up against the Dark Side where his father faltered. To just say, "Oh yeah. 15 years after RotJ someone peed in Luke's Cheerios, he got mad, and started slaying Ewoks." That's not happening. This is Star Wars. This isn't Terminator where people are completely over it and they have to try something ridiculous like
turn Conner into a bad guy.

That's not really a spoiler, they ruined it in a bunch of the TV spots already anyway.

As for Luke: I think the plot is that he's in hiding. Clearly the galaxy is still shaky on Jedi and Sith and the Force. The kids Han is talking to ask him if it's all real. I think after Episode 6 Luke either gets scared of how close he comes to the Dark Side or he just gets scared of how powerful he has become in general and goes into hiding. He's the new Yoda. Then when this Kylo Ren dude shows up, Luke is forced out of retirement.

No doubt. Much like Obi-wan was forced out of hiding in episode 4.

I think that's basically what's going to happen. My prediction:

Kylo comes out and flexes his muscles, Han starts running around looking for Luke, Han runs into Fin and the girl (forget her name). Han brings the two of them into the Rebel Alliance. Luke comes out of hiding on his own and ends up saving people at the end in a huge emotional reveal.

One predominant rumor is the sith is hunting Luke, so Han and co. have to go save him in time (and he more than likely ends up saving them instead).

Not sure why they'd just now be ramping up their attempts to look for him.

Well, the Empire may not have been a real threat until this point, they may be regathering forces to take over again. That and maybe this sith only barely pops up at this point and he is why they are more of a threat and now they absolutely need Luke. Maybe the Jedi haven't been needed for 20-30 years and now there's a new threat and it's time again.

It's clear the remnants of the Empire have been around as Finn starts as a stormtrooper, but the huge ships decaying in the desert make me think they haven't been the same for a while. I've avoided any possible spoilers out there so I could be wrong, but that's what I get from the trailers.

After Endor the fight still rages on with the Empire even without the Emperor. There's some factions of mofs and whatnot that are loyal to Palpatine and are carrying out his orders posthumously. Also keep in mind that a lot of areas under Empire control were fed propaganda from the only news outlets they have that are run by the Empire themselves therefore a lot of people don't even KNOW that the Emperor is dead and the Empire is fractured.

    Sick.

Harrison Ford's looks really badly photo-shopped though. :D Copy and pasted his head on there.

I don't get all the mystery surrounding Mark Hamill and Luke Skywalker. They've showed pretty much everyone, and we've got hints of him with the robot arm...

Lots of new footage but still not a ton of answers. I'm loving this.

Also that lightsaber is unstable. Looks to be built by someone who is not trained in the force, probably an unstable crystal. Leads to that wavy effect. That's old canon anyway, I'm not sure if they keep it that way. It would lend credence to him being a Vader cultist though if he built his own lightsaber to try to match his hero.

Yes, Abrams was quoted as saying pretty much that.

Less than 2 months, get hype!

I know I just love that we're able to SEE it that way. It looks great. Already this movie looks about 1000 times better than Episode 1 and 200000 times better than Episode 2.
