Standings Watch: Race To The Playoffs

Definitely want OKC and Utah to lose. If they start to pile up some losses, I could see them packing it in the last couple of weeks of the season. The longer they hang around the more likely they are to say f*** it, although maybe they've made that decision already.

Big opportunity tonight to get a win that would have been unexpected a week ago. Between the Grizz, Raptors and Knicks this week I think we need to go 2-1.

 

Blazers / Jazz/ OKC about to start tanking we don't need to worry about those 3 teams the schedules they have coming benefit us they got some. Top heavy teams

 

Yeah. Teams falling below us is the bigger and more immediate need. Once Utah is comfortably below us, we can turn our attention to the teams that are a couple of wins ahead, like the Mavs.

Not looking like OKC are going to make a push for the play-in if they are going to monitor Shai's mins rest of season.

 

but the coach says specifically in the article that he wouldn't even be playing if they weren't in the mix for the playoffs. that says to me they're going for it, perhaps foolishly.

 

Tied for the final play-in spot and trending up. 2 behind in the loss column for the 6th spot with 17 games left. The guys directly in front of us we have all gained at least a game on in the last 10.

One must truly love the salary cap and the rules to truly excel in that role. We haven't had that on the site since he who shall not be named haha. Unfortunately, I'm not that guy, but can drop screenshots of the standings haha.

No Larry is good. I couldn't remember the guy's name for a minute, but it was @vasashi17 I think. Unfortunately we went rogue and was banned. He had a passion for the topic and brought the goods as well.

But yes, Larry is great. I think Eric whatshisname is pretty good too. But guys like @LTLakerFan can barely bring themselves to click links much less look up data on other sites, so it's a big ask. Gotta drop the knowledge here on site for convenience

No. You needed to be here when lines were drawn between support to Lakers FO …. and Magic/what he did and how he did it in leaving the Lakers …. and then like Slick with his constant mentions about Bron/AD not playing together …. similar with Rob should have done this and should have done that FAR better than he actually did after going through the delicate battle 2nd time around to get the AD trade done (while being called a back stabber in the National media by Magic) and losing the months occupying pursuit of Kawhi. With the fallback roster he assembled almost immediately following the snake chase, aside from Boogie getting hurt and bringing Dwight in to fill the hole. The roster that won a ring along with LeBro and AD’s health. On and on for 2 months into the season where we were looking pretty damned good until Covid locked down the season. To be fair Rob did under perform on the “margins” for a bunch of stuff until the Westbrook trade was forced onto the organization. A real wizard this person was probably approaching or same zip code as Eric Pinkus and Larry Coon with his salary cap knowledge.

 

ok, i'll tell it--vash did know a lot about the cap, but he didn't know everything (he got furious when corrected, though).

pincus and coon and some of the other internet basketball personalities really know it forward and back, but you see even they get confused sometimes and get it wrong.

we have a few folks with good enough working knowledge of the cap around here. and we also have google.

it's crazy to think about it, but we still have a slight chance of finishing 5th or 6th.

 

Good chance to reach 6th seed. But just making the playoffs is good enough. If this team is healthy when playoffs start… i like the teams chances to make a good run.
