I like that take JSM - glass half full/understanding the calculated approach to do just enough — IF IF IF they also win tomorrow and secure that home game against the Pels-Minny.

That “others” are stepping up these games does bode well for their confidence for playoffs.

    Current Standings
    5. Warriors 43-38
    6. Clippers 42-38
    7. Lakers 42-39
    8. Pelicans 42-39
    9. Wolves 40-40
    10.Thunder 39-42

    Saturday Games (538 Projections)
    Wolves > Spurs
    Clippers > Blazers
-Neither of these games are projected to be close.

    5. Warriors 43-38
    6. Clippers 43-38
    7. Lakers 42-39
    8. Pelicans 42-39
    9. Wolves 41-40
    10.Thunder 39-42

    Sunday Games
    Warriors > Blazers
    Suns > Clippers
    Grizz > Thunder
    Wolves > Pelicans
    Lakers > Jazz

    5. Warriors 44-38
    6. Clippers 43-39
    7. Lakers 43-39
    8. Wolves 42-40
    9. Pelicans 42-40
    10.Thunder 39-43

Supposing that's how things end up...

    Play-In Thoughts (Sagarin Numbers)
    Pelicans 90.93
    Lakers 90.89
    Wolves 90.23
None of these three teams have been great against top 10 teams in the NBA.
    Pelicans: 11-17
    Lakers 12-15
    Wolves 12-16

But the Wolves have taken care of business against top 16 teams, and the Lakers really have not.
    Pelicans 19-23
    Lakers 18-25
    Wolves 22-22

    Play-In Thoughts (538 Rating)
Lakers 1584 improves to 1626 in the postseason
Wolves 1601 improves to 1607 in the postseason
Pelicans 1570 improves to 1579 in the postseason
-Higher ratings because, I guess, of shortened benches.

The Lakers would probably have better odds against the Pelicans, but they should be favorites against either team for a play-in game.

So it looks like there’s only one scenario where we win tomorrow and don’t get at least 7th, and it would require the Clippers to lose to the resting Suns and the Wolves losing at home to the Pelicans.

Something tells me this is exactly how it's going to play out. I feel good about playing the Wolves in the play-in.

Whatever, let the Clips have 6th, they’re 1-3 against the Kings this year and will need Russ to be the primary defender on Fox (lol). Just means we get an awesome second round series against them or the Kings if we can handle the play-in and get past Memphis. Let the Nuggets, Warriors and Suns kill each other on the other side of the bracket.

I’d rather face the Pelicans than the Wolves I think, but we should be able to take care of business against either. The Pelicans minus Zion are less talented, while KAT has a tendency to be awful in big games. The Wolves won’t all be sick this time though.

Yeah, I think we can deal with both of those teams. We should just take them very seriously and I'd expect both Bron and AD to show up ready to dominate.

having both him and clarke out definitely hurts them. when they have both, that's a good, versatile frontcourt. now it's just jjj. i guess that aldama character does some good things. i'm not super impressed with tillman, though is advanced stats are great.

I maybe could identify one of those Blazers starters if I saw him in the street, but more than likely it would just be

still don't understand why dallas didn't just sit kyrie and luka citing actual injuries they've dealt with and played wood and green. they'd have lost anyway and would be protected against any inquiry.

Assuming Bron plays the last game in the regular season, he will have missed 27 games this season. That’s a third of the games. How much rest is enough? In my opinion it’s very short sighted to be resting on the court in these last few weeks. If the Lakers had won a couple more games we wouldn’t have to be in the playins and could have had all that time to rest.

And? He’d still get more rest playing harder for a couple games and winning them, instead of dropping into the playins.
