Standings Watch: Race To The Playoffs

I think the Clips are trying to be in 6th. Not 5th.

 

Worst case. Clips want out of 4/5; they’ll beat us to solidify their 6th place and desired spot whilst screwing us in several ways—including losing to the pels.

 

The Pelicans are driving me insane with all the bad/injured teams they get to keep playing. Since we crushed them last month these are all of their wins during their “streak”:

@Rockets
Spurs
Hornets
Clippers without PG x2
Tanking Blazers x2
Nuggets without Jokic

 

We’re better than them if they don’t have PG (and maybe even if they’re whole), but they’re off from now until our game against them on Wednesday while we have two games in between lol.

 

Nvm, I was wrong about needing the Clippers to lose again. If we win out we’re getting to at least 6th.

 

Bad result tonight. Mavs game was largely irrelevant and Pelicans won, which dropped our expected chances of making the 7th or 8th seed from 79.8% to 71.2%. Thankfully, we have both the 2way and 3way tiebreakers over Pelicans. Our chance of getting the 9th seed doubled tonight compared to if the Clippers had won.

 

Just take care of business and we’ll be fine

Anybody have a breakdown of scenarios on the tie breakers at the end of the season?

 

I hate that our game against the Clips is the 2nd of a back to back. No way Bron plays that, right?

 

I think we’re going all-out for that 6th seed. If we get it, we get some rest before the start of the playoff series while the play-in tournament goes down. I expect AD and LeBron to play every game, it would be huge if they could get some rest with the game in hand in Utah the night before.

 

Hopefully.

Markkanen has been out and they've been playing heavy minutes to guys like THT, JTA, Damian Jones, and Fontecchio. Maybe they are packing it in and focusing on the draft. We need to smash them in the two games we have left so our core players play minimal stressful minutes.

 

5-0 here we go!!! We finish the season on a 7 game win streak, winning 10 out of our last 11 games. Eradicating that 2-10 start.The Lakers would be considered as the most dangerous team in the Western Conference playoffs.

 

On the other hand , Pelicans would be 1st in the West if both Zion and BI played 65 games , a huge if but still ..;

 

think they were on a 48-win pace with zion in the lineup, and they're only .500 with zion all time, so i'm not so sure about the 1st place stuff.

they've caught some serious breaks to end the season, and they're the single other team whose fortunes directly impact ours (they're both competing for a spot AND own swap rights). overtaking us because they've played a bunch of unexpectedly easy games is frustrating. meanwhile, we get everyone's come back game, all season long.

and don't talk to me about injuries.

Team has just keep stepping up and taking care of business. We have to win as many of our remaining games as possible. Period. 6th seed is technically possible so we have to go for it.

 

Theoretically even 5th seed is still possible. Actually, no. Even 4th seed is still mathematically possible.
