Hmmm. Not sure that Den wants to do anything that increases the odds that the Lakers are 8th. Gifting the Pels a win does just that.

 

Clippers game is 2nd of a back-to-back.

I don't want to cut it close, and I'm hoping for better than this, but 3-3 to finish 41-41 should still get us into the play in. 3 teams would have to pass us to knock us out. OKC would have to go 4-1, Dallas would have to go 4-1, Utah would have to go 5-1, and NOP would have to go 4-2. 3 of those 4 would have to happen for us to be out, which is unlikely.

I'm still hoping for 4-2 or better though, in order to be in the 7/8 play in game, because I think at 3-3 there's a strong chance that NOP and/or OKC pass us and that we'd be in the 9/10 game, which would drastically reduce our chances of making the real playoffs.

Or just, ya know, go 6-0 and take the 6 seed.

 

Cranjis agrees. His #'s say 89% to make play-in, with 54% to be in 6/7/8, 35% to be 9/10.




Unfortunately, his #'s also favor the TWolves in the next game. Fri gonna be another huge one.

I sure hope not, we have no leeway to punt any game. Who cares if it’s a back to back. We’re in Utah the night before and the Jazz are on the verge of being out of this entirely so hopefully we can get a win and have the opportunity to rest guys in the 4th.

if we are seriously tanking a back to back game against the Clips, we have no shot at anything anyways, so may as well stay home.

 

To recap, in just the last two weeks the Pelicans have gotten to play the Rockets, Spurs, Hornets, Clippers without PG, full tank mode Blazers and now the Nuggets without Jokic. Ridiculously lucky down the stretch.
